Why is being a cold blooded killer so bad?

Twilight isn't about vampires, it's about teenagers with sharp teeth.
Vampires don't "sparkle" in the sun: they screech in horror, burst into flame and wither to ash.

Hey, I am new to this thread. I just found this now. I am a big Hayden Christensen fan, I loved him in Star Wars. He played Anakin so well. I don't know what it is, but people tell me that I have a thing for Villians. He was my Fav in the first three chapters.

Yes,
as in when he killed the Sand People
and then as Vader when he killed the Jedi.

Welcome to the thread Calgaryfan2006
Without the villains there would be no story

Welcome to the thread Calgary.

Who says killing makes one inhuman? Wouldn't denying our primal instincts make us inhuman?

Hi Calgary

OKay, with the sandpeople -- you wouldn't have done the same?

The the Jedi -- well, he wasn't coldblooded as much as he was doing everything that he thought that he needed to save his wife's life.

I don't think that Anakin was a cold-blooded killer. Cold-blooded killers have no remorse. They revel in their killings, int he blood and taking someone's life. Anakin/Vader only killed when nessasary and he was remorseful in both accounts that you spoke of. Even as Vader, he only killed when he had to, but by then, he had deadened his conscience to the killings and his inner voice.

Maybe, or maybe I would have resisted the temptation to do so. I don't know.
I'd like to believe that I wouldn't react in a way that made me kill others in cold blood. No matter how much I knew it would make feel better or thought of many ways to justify it.
I don't think I could live with myself with murder on my conscience.

And sure he was remorseful but that remorse was not enough to make him see the error of his ways. He still continued down the dark path for twenty something years and took him that long to turn around to become the good man he used to be again.

He certainly wasn't the same brand of evil as Palpatine, you never even heard him laugh when killing/doing something evil. The closest thing was his amused comment when he killed Captain Needa.

If I'm not mistaken though, he did take great pleasure in killing Jedi though.

Right Ani is not coldblooded...he do things for a reason and when he became bad he has a reason too...because he don't want to let go those people that he is afraid to lose especially his wife...

I love that scene. I love Vader best in ESB.
"Apology accepted, Captain Needa."

MMM, maybe a little, but he did seem a little reluctant when he came in to kill the really young children.
I mean he came in with his lightsaber off. and He kept the hood on, like to shelter his face.
But in the holo Obi-Wan saw, he hood was down and he was slicing people left and right.

I think ultimately he did what he did to save Padme, and that's why we love him

I still believe he had more than just that motive.

He craved the power, he wanted to be better than the Jedi,

Then when he accepted the dark side he even wanted to kill his new Master less than 72 hours after becoming his apprentice.

After he was on that power high saving Padmé was second fiddle.
He wanted to to rule the galaxy...

That is just how I look at it.

Love your analysis of Anakin's transformation. I agree that power is what drove him. Killing the children was awful.
