Juli - Oh right, well Ive only seen season one and five so I wouldnt know.
I would recommend S2, but 4 and 5 are just so-so. I hate the Cordy/Angel romance, it makes me twitch.

That is a huge possibility, why would he go to Obi Wan after he ignored the things he said about Shmi.
My point exactly. Anakin is arrogant, we all know that , but a lot of his decision to keep to himself might of had something to do with his lack of faith in Obi-Wan to help. And it might raise some awkward questions about why he'd be seeing Padme's future, though he could play that off with a she's my friend lie. Though he doesn't seem very good at lying, if pried I could totally see him fessing up to Obi-Wan. But what can you do?

Ah, good point. Totally slipped my mind.

I have the entire Buffy series on DVD, but I've never seen an episode of Angel in my life. But ew, Cordy/Angel.

Haha. I know, I love how he was all dark and tortured, but not at all great at lying. It always amused me so much when he was constantly putting his foot in his mouth when he first saw Padme again. I was like, "Sweetie, stop talking while you're ahead."

Angel's a very good show, in some aspects even better than Buffy, but they made some SERIOUS mistakes in the last two seasons, Cordy/Angel being the biggest. Even Joss says it was a mistake.

OMG I KNOW. That line where he's all "you're grown to, more beautiful" I was like "are you serious?" It was adorable and sad all at the same time. And of course she completely shut him down with "you'll always been that little boy" or something to that extent.

Hi Chrissy. I really should get around to watching SW again. I haven't rewatched it for about 4 months now. I think that's a record or something.

There was a guy sitting behind me in the movie theater who said "denied" really loud.

My PoliSci professor was talking about this the other day! She was all "you know there's nothing wrong with her being five years older than him, women have a longer life expectancy. She thought she was just spotting him five years." Despite Padme clearing having a SHORTER life expectancy I thought it was funny.

Well Jedi supposed live way longer than non-Force sensitives. Well in peace time anyway...

When TPM came out I was put off by it but by ROTS I didn't care if she was 5 years older.
And besides, in a sci-fi/fantasy story you can leave behind your earth ideas and have anything go. I would think something like a woman being older would not be taboo for some societies in SW.

Possibly. Maybe he thought he could handle it and at the same time thought Obi-Wan's advice was useless.

I don't necessarily think that a woman being older is taboo in American society today , I would think it's almost more taboo for a guy because then he's "taking advantage" . And I agree, in TPM it was kind of creepy but by AotC it didn't really matter because you couldn't tell anymore.

There is that.

I guess people are more easy going today about it but I still read and hear people who are put off by old woman/younger man romances.

I say it's revenge for all those centuries of grown men marrying 13-year-old girls.

yeah revenge it is.

Well I have a choice of getting any TV show I want for my birthday, so I might get Angel. I didnt see much of the Cordy/Angel romance, it was Wes/Fred that made me love the show.

It was weird seeing an older Padme in TPM, but I think that has a lot to do with just how childish Jake Lloyd looked, whereas Natalie had a load of make up on so she looked real older. but in the second and third movies with Hayden, you cant even tell.

So true.

I wouldn't say I was put off in TPM, possibly slightly weirded out...maybe because Natalie looked so young anyway.

I think really, it has more to do with how different they look in terms of appearance. Because, well, if the woman looked heaps older I would be put off, but if she looked young, then even if she was the same age as the woman who looked old, I wouldn't mind. Kinda odd.

Jake never grew out of it either.

Natalie does look young. She was 16 (right?) when she filmed TPM but she totally passed for 14. And I think that part of the reason AotC worked was because there isn't really that age difference between Hayden and Natalie.

I don't think that's odd, I think you're right. We base a lot of the way we handle things on superficial aspects.

Hey all. I like your icon of Connor, he was my fav in Angel.
Yeah, I taped ROTS when it was on TV last week here. That is my Fav one of the new ones they made. I think Anakin is awesome, Hayden played him very well.

The fact that Natalie and Hayden arent that far apart makes episode 2 and 3 so much better than episode 1.

I never really liked Jake Lloyd.
