I just realized you'll all probably need to reload the page at least twice to get the full scope of the OP

The title refers to two Reylo scenes: 1) The Lightsaber breaking between them 2) The Falcon door closing. The basic message is that The Force is more powerful than the Falcon door (and thus their connection is still there

) and the force was caught between Kylo and Rey in the throne room when they turned against each other

You might have noticed the ship name

A few critics have nicknamed Kylo and Rey "ForceTimers" for their force bond scenes. Let me know if you like it

She grabbed it off him in a very stilted, cold, shocking way. It must have stunned the hell out of him.

I still think the lightsaber was the perfect excuse for her to leave without him. She couldn't find the words so she did it with actions, instead.

Maybe. Now I'm wondering what would happen, if she did use words? Would he let her go? I think he might. He wouldn't have the strenght to fight her, I think. Or could have gotten really angry, start a fight with her, but like in TFA, he wouldn't have the strenght to hurt her.

It would have been like Beauty and the Beast, I think, where he's fallen in love with her and she urges him to let her go visit her father

It all depends on how Rey would have responded. If she had simply said "I need more time to think about it... Please don't take this the wrong way... I just can't leave my friends to die", I think Kylo might have responded in quite a mature way.

Rey reaching for the lightsaber ignited his fear and frustration. They had just finally found a way to work as a team, so Kylo would have felt deeply betrayed and confused.

Talking to him could have made things better, but with the attack on the Ressistance and his proposal, this seemed like the easiest way out of this. In terms of lack of time and like you said, maybe even avoiding her answer to the proposal. Add to it the probable unability to actually speak in that emotional situation and reaching for the saber seems like a logical thing she did.

I think timing was a big issue

It was literally a life and death moment for everyone.

Also, I think Rey knew that The First Order would be on their way to see them after the situation with Snoke turned ugly. They were in a race against time.

I was hoping for a moment where Rey tenderly touches the scar on his face and apologizes for permanently scarring him

That would be a beautiful thing to see in Episode IX

) and I think that Rey is more likely to do it. Ben seems to me too cautious and shy. I don't think he would dare.
