Similarities in Disney movies...

Have you ever noticed certain things that are the same in movies?

Like for example: Snow White and Sleeping Beauty were both "sleeping" under a spell and had to be waken up by a kiss.

What are other similarities with movies?

The people are always "friends" with their animal sidekicks.

If you are a parent in a Disney animated movie... chances are you are dead or about to take the long dirt nap!

Ooh, this is a good thread!

 I can't think of anything off the top of my head though, except..all the animals talk!

Almost all of the princesses featured in Disney films have one remaining parent, usually a father, while the other parent is deceased, etc.

In most of the princess movies the princesses marry the men/prince so quickly...they barely know eachother! :goof:

That's why I love the musical Into The Woods. The second act is priceless!! All about ok... we're married, now we're bored.

Not to mention... the actual character of Snow White is 13, yes, 13-years-old!!! They fail to mention that in Disney's version. ;)

There's always a group/party song! :wiggle:

Under the Sea
I Just Can't Wait to Be King
Be Our Guest
Prince Ali

Etc. :D

Wow, I wasn't sure if I believed that so I went looking around...and by George, its hard to find that girls age. I didn't find anything saying 13 yrs old, but I found a couple other says she was 16 years old and 18 years old and even one that says shes 7 years old but then others say she was 7 when she ran away from her evil step mother and then grew up...so who knows.

Everytime something terrible happens, it starts raining. :look:

Also, most of the time the girls have no mothers, just fathers.

And yep, there's always 'a party song'. :)

All that info is so interesting!! I can't believe you looked it up.

Yeah, considering it's a fairy tale.. they are all right in some way. I just remember when I was in college I took a Fairy Tales class and we studied the classic ones (Cinderella, Snow White, The Little Mermaid, ETC) and Cinderella is the oldest known fairy tale, by the way. Anyhow... in the oldest known version of Snow White and The Seven Drawfs, Snow White is 13 when she is killed. And Hey, sometimes she was dead for quite some time before the prince came... which is kind of gross! :puke:

That's so interesting! I wish I could study something like that, if only for a day, at school. :D
