Hercules #4: Hades ~ "Woah, is my hair out?"
Welcome to the Hercules Appreciation Thread  Release Date: June 27, 1997 "Gonna shout it from the mountaintops. A star is born. It's a time for pulling out the stops. A star is born." Ancient story; The Greek gods Zeus and his wife Hera bare a son named Hercules. Hades, Zeus' jealous brother plots to overthrow Zeus and rule Mount Olympus. Hades learns that in eighteen years an alignment will allow him to locate and free the Titans to help conquer Olympus. That's only if Hercules doesn't interfere with his plans. Hades sends over his slaves Panic and Pain in order to dispose of Hercules successfully. When Hercules is a baby they succeed in kidnapping him. They feed him a formula which turns him mortal, only his super human strength doesn't disappear. Hercules is found by two farmers passing by. They take him into the care of their own hands , raising him with farm life. Years later, the teenaged Hercules becomes an outcast due to his strength, and wonders where he came from. After his foster parents reveal the necklace they found him with, Hercules decides to visit the temple of Zeus for answers. The temple's statue of Zeus comes to life and reveals all to Hercules, telling him that he can regain his godhood by becoming a "true hero". Zeus sends Hercules and his forgotten friend Pegasus to find the Phil who is known for training heroes. Phil trains Hercules into a potential hero, and when he is older, they fly for Thebes. On the way, they meet Meg. A sarcastic damsel who Hercules saves from the centaur. The film is based on the legendary Greek mythology hero Heracles, the son of Zeus, in Greek mythology. Though Hercules did not match the financial success of Disney's early-1990s releases, the film received positive reviews, and made $99 million in revenue in the United States during its theatrical release and $252,712,101 worldwide. Yes he was, he has no idea what to do with Meg. He's was different compared to others and grew up built on strength since he is half god. I love how they both come together, their love was unstoppable, even more than Hades could take since he tried to break them apart.
