Right, so here are some of my thoughts on Frozen 2!

I mentioned about the cinema we went to see it in at the off topic thread, so I won't go into details about that here.

I enjoyed it very much, though I'm not sure if I love it, yet. When I read a few of the reviews, I knew the story was going to be more complicated than the first, and boy they weren't wrong, but it wasn't overly so I guess... but compared to the first film... I liked the story and where it took Elsa and Anna and explained where Elsa's powers came from. I loved seeing Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven and Olaf as a family playing Charades. That was cute. I didn't think the songs were as unique or as catchy as the songs in the first film, but that's only on first viewing, I'm sure they will grow on me after a few more listens. However, I really didn't like Kristoff's new song, it had too much of a pop/boyband sound to it, and his sequence was a little cheesy. The flashbacks to how he met Anna was cute and though I liked how it started with his original Reindeers Are Better Than People. It was sweet how he was trying to propose to Anna but things kept getting in the way or he couldn't find the right words to say it or how to propose. However, I didn't think Kristoff was given that much to do besides this other than follow with Elsa and Anna into their adventure and it made it feel like his character was given a downgrade from the first film.

Olaf is freaking hilarious and adorable. At the beginning of the film I was wondering where his personal flurry was 'cause whenever he was inside the castle with the others, surely he would be melting? My favourite part with Olaf is when he is telling the story of the first film to the people of the Enchanted Forest, that was the best!

The ending was not what I was expecting at all.

The animation is absolutely stunning and for me the stand out part of this film. The colours just popped out of the screen.

In all I very much enjoyed it, though I definitely will have to watch it a few more times to really get into the songs and the story more.

One last note: When my mum and I went into Saks Fifth Avenue, they had a Frozen section, including glass stands with replica's of Elsa and Anna's dresses from Frozen 2 which was very cool.
