I watched Big Hero 6 last night! I enjoyed it quite a bit more than I thought I was going to. I wasn't quite sure what to expect going into it, but it definitely blew me away with some parts of it. The animation was absolutely stunning (as expected from Disney) but there was just something so special about the way they animated the city of San Fransokyo - very cool inspiration of San Francisco.

I loved Hiro's and Tadashi's brother relationship at the beginning of the film, I wish that could have been explored further. It was so sad when Tadashi died and watching Hiro's grief over the loss of his brother. I thought they handled that extremely well and the line between revenge and justice. I liked the other characters too, the 'nerd lab' group but felt they should have been given a bit more back story. We didn't get to know too much about them which was a shame. So that part of the film felt a little rushed to me. But I did like how they tried to be there for Hiro.

Baymax is what stole the film for me, he was just so freaking adorable and hilarious at the same time. That part where he was sellotaping himself was so funny. I want a Baymax.

What I didn't realise was that this was loosely based from the Marvel comic book of the same name, but then I realised of course Disney would make an animated Marvel-like film, since they own the company. What was pretty coincidental, though, was that the previous three Fridays' I had watched Sam Raimi's Spiderman Trilogy, which was before Disney had bought Marvel and Stan Lee made a cameo in one of the films, and for me to so happen to watch Big Hero 6 the week after where of course Stan Lee would make a cameo appearance in also, is pretty coincidental.

It really was sad when Tadashi got killed, and all for nothing too because the villian's daughter was still alive.

I want a Baymax too.

Thanks! Yeah, that sucks. So good of Hiro to go save his daughter after all that happened.
