I watched this on Friday. I forgot what a little troublemaker Melanie was as a child. I also LOL-ed at that cat still being alive all those years later after having cancer and being blown up.

LOL, the whole cat thing was hysterical. I loved hearing the story about Mel and the cat from Jake, though. You can just feel his love for her by the way he tells that story.

You could feel his love. I always got the feeling he loved that she was such a little rebel. I mean he was drunk on their wedding night, so it was quite clear he didn't play the rules. Besides he was right there with her during all of her mischievous behavior.

Me too.For most of the film I think Melanie believed she couldn't truly be happy or fulifilled in her hometown. I think that was the most satisfying part, seeing her completely in love with her life.
