Is the cold weather causing all that to be out?

Nice.

I think it was the cold weather. It had rained hours before, but I think it was more the cold that did it.

Ah. Today was said to be the hottest day of the week. It was in the 70s.

I am jealous. I long for the 70s.
Cold weather makes me not want to dress presentable.

I hear it's colder than Antarctica in Chicago.

Cute gifs.

It can't possibly be colder than Antartica in the winter. Antartica in the summer makes sense.

Yes, Chicago will be colder than Antarctica, Alaska and the North Pole on Wednesday

It was said that it felt as low as -70° there at one point.

Average Temperature of Antarctica

Quote:
The Average Temperature in Antarctica
The temperatures in Antarctica are no doubt dramatic, but they are actually tolerable during certain seasons. In Antarctica, the average annual temperature ranges from -76 degrees Fahrenheit at the most elevated parts of the interior to 14 degrees along the coast.

The Seasons of Antarctica
Antarctica has unique seasons. Spring runs from early November to December, and while the ice is still heavily packed, the temperatures start to rise. It's a great time to witness wildlife, as the penguins court, and the fur and elephant seals give birth.

Late December through March is considered the summer season, and within that are the early summer and midsummer seasons. During this time, temperatures can reach up to 50 degrees Fahrenheit on the peninsula. There are also 24 hours of daylight.

There's a short fall season from March to May, and winter falls sometime between May and November. This season is quite brutal, with temperatures dropping well below freezing. At the coast, temperatures can drop below -40 degrees, and inland it can drop as low as -112 degrees.
Brr.

Cool. Maybe I'll take a trip someday.

Ah, see I was right. Nothing in the USA compares to winter in Antarctica.

I do feel bad for Chicago firefighters, though. Or anyone who has to work outdoors.
