Looks like my Spanish ancestors ordered Sicily to convert or banish all Jews in 1492.

At the time there were around 25,000-30,000 Jews living on the island, in 52 different locations. Most of Sicily's Jewish population left the island. Around 9,000 Jews converted in order to remain in Sicily. In a proclamation of 3 February 1740, containing 37 paragraphs, Jews were formally invited to return to Sicily. A few came, but, feeling their lives insecure, they soon went back to Turkey.

If I could get away with looking into both sides, I would. But if the producers were like No, one side only then I'd choose my paternal grandfather's mother as #1 choice, my paternal grandfather's father as #2, paternal grandmother's father #3.

I feel like I know a lot about my mom's side and my paternal grandma's mother's side.

Although, my mom has someone who was adopted in her family, a great grandfather, so if by some miracle adoption records could be found, it'd be interesting.
