 It might be a Canadian thing? One of my flisters is from Nova Scotia and is studying down in New York. I asked if she's going to the parade and she plans to. I'm really envious but I'm also excited for her. |

I do feel like tourists do more big events than actual NY born people - and that's including every other parade and New Years Eve in TS.

Is she considered a tourist if she's studying there?
 Still, I suppose your point stands. Someone from New York originally may have outgrown these events when they were young, or learned a long time ago crowds can get crazy there. |

Well..I wouldn't refer to her as a tourist. But if she's new here then NY is still awe-inspiring. Sometimes I wonder if a person living in Rome doesn't care about the Coliseum or if someone living in Paris doesn't care about the Eiffel Tower.

You know back when the Eiffel Tower was first built it was seen as an eyesore. They thought it wouldn't stay around for long.

I think the same thing was thought about the Twin Towers. People hated the design.
