no, i haven't tried it because i've become deathly afraid of dling anything until someone who actually knows what he/she is doing looks at it,

according to edward, since his soul is already damned, he needs to keep from sinning by not having sex.

yea, if you know for certain there's no way to be redeemed I guess you should rob banks, have lots of sex etc etc.

he prob is holding on to hope that God will be forgiving since he was turned into a vampire unwillingly.

See, I always felt that Edward was open to this and that would basically negate your argument, but if Wikipedia is right I'll assume you're onto something as apparently this was done due to Edward's mother's wishes. Blah, all of this is confusing me.

Yea, it was Edward's mother who asked Carlise to "save" him. So Edward who was already on deaths door was changed without his consent.

And he thinks he doesn't even have a soul at all but he must deep down somewhere believe God will grant him some salvation if he is keeping the one virtue he has left for his wedding night.

Meyer is a practicing Mormon so no surprise.
