btw, I finished reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, and really liked it. It's written in the form of letters. I cried. Now I have to see the Netflix movie version.

She came to this country via airplane in the 70s. If she could manage that, she can manage it nowadays that flights are more technologically advanced. She got on those flights for her mother's funeral.

I was thinking how she isn't a fan of leaving the house, so her getting on a flight was surprising.

I was going to watch it on Friday and then I saw it was more than 2 hrs and I couldn't do that at 10 o'clock at night. So it'll have to be this weekend.

As a movie it was good. As an adaptation it was ok. Hollywood tried to make it more dramatic and storylines more mysterious than they were in the book. In the movie the main character invites herself to the island whereas in the book the islanders keep asking her when she's coming, to let them know when she's coming. And then they deleted a lot of characters and gave another character a personality transplant.

Ah, guess that's what happens when given a couple hours to depict a novel.

yea, I get why the changes had to be made. I was a little bummed because in the book the marriage proposal happens in such a funny way and I was hoping it would play out on screen the same way, but they changed it.
It's still worth a watch, though.
