The Ghost Writer: Read between the lines
An unremarkable ghost-writer has landed a lucrative contract to redact the memoirs of Adam Lang, the former UK Prime Minister. After dominating British politics for years, Lang has retired with his wife to the USA. He lives on an island, in luxurious, isolated premises complete with a security detail and a secretarial staff. Soon, Adam Lang gets embroiled in a major scandal with international ramifications that reveals how far he was ready to go in order to nurture UK's "special relationship" with the USA. But before this controversy has started, before even he has closed the deal with the publisher, the ghost-writer gets unmistakable signs that the turgid draft he is tasked to put into shape inexplicably constitutes highly sensitive material. Ewan McGregor stars as the unnamed ghostwriter |

I realized we didn't have a thread for this film and since I consider it one of his best, I decided to make one.

Thanks for making a thread for this This is a very good Ewan film. Slow, but not boring.

That's exactly how I'd describe it. Slow, but enjoyable. And Ewan was an everyman type of character, but somehow a lot better than your average everyman. I wish the film had gotten more positive attention. It was overshadowed by the Polanski of it all, unfortunately.

This film really is underrated as a Ewan film and as a Polanski film, I think. I liked how there was a slow build-up of suspense.

It's one of his movies I have on my harddrive that I haven't seen yet. I shall watch it, eventually... He does look dreamy in those caps.

He is dreamy in the movie, too. And when he's not being dry and dreamy he's being wet and dreamy. And sometimes he's in bed. It's all so wonderful.
And the acting is superb as well. If you care about that sort of thing. |

I can post more incentive. If you need it. Of course, you might not be able to see it very well from that puddle of drool you're currently lying in.

I need incentive to be posted even though I saw the movie.
