Did you like it?
I was going to watch Christopher Robin today but then I figured I'd watch the live action Lady and the Tramp. It was cute. __________________

Yeah, it's the movie I mentioned being based on a true story of all the orphaned children in Sudan. Very sad, but nice that there are people like Sam Childers (that's who Gerard Butler portrays) risking their life to help them.

Is it straight up action or does the film allow Gerard to show emotional depth?

Oh, no, lots of emotional depth. The movie starts with him coming out of jail. Total white trash loser. Gets mad that his wife stopped stripping and orders her to go back to that, but she found Jesus, and encourages him to go to church with her. He storms out, goes and does tons of drugs and commits more crimes. During one crazy night, him and his deadbeat buddy pick up a hitchhiker that attacks them. Gerard thinks he kills him, and that causes him to change his ways. He goes to church, gets baptized, gets a job in construction, and actually starts his own construction business and buys his family a house, so no more trailer. He gets inspired by a preacher to go to Africa, and does construction work over there. While there, he sees all of the horror, especially what the children are going through. So he vows to help them, and creates orphanages and churches there. He also started a church in his hometown. All around, a pretty good guy that has no issue killing bad people to save the innocent, especially children. This is the real dude: Machine Gun Preacher

Well, he was into crime and drugs then, so he wanted the money she got for stripping.
This dude in prison beat up two child molesters serving life with a walking cane. One died that day and the other died yesterday. __________________

It's wild to me that prisoners, people who are not altogether moral, look at child molesters and beat them to death. Like for getting rid of the scum, but you're a prisoner too who did real bad sh-- and even you are looking down on child molesters.

He was villain-ish if you look at it from the POV of wanting Matt Damon's character to succeed. Like, he calls Matt's character out and is suspicious of him, but he can also be obnoxious.

You should see the film when you have time.
His character gets a pretty brutal death scene. __________________
