Ewan was set to be in Love, Honour and Obey, but he had filming duties. Do you guys remember when Johnny puts his finger in Jude's mouth? *dies* My tape is stuffed, cos I've rewund it so many times. Imagine if Jude played John Rhys Meyers character in Velvet? *dies again* I wish they'd get off their arses and make a film!

You know what I was thinking, about Ewan and Jude at ocsar time. Ewan is in Big Fish, which we know is getting postive attenion, and Jude will be in Cold Mountain, which I don't know as much about, I'm a naughty knicker. Anyway, Cold Mountain mosty likely get oscar attenion because of Renee about Nicole, so mabye Jude will get attenion aswell. So, mabye I'm jumping the gun, but what if there both get a nod, won't that be kinda funny.

I never heard of that movie. I'll have to look it up on imdb. Do you know what movie Ewan was filming at the time that made him unable to take part in it?
*sigh* If Jude played Brian Slade.....but Jonathan was good in the part.

Ellen - that would be great if both of them were nominated. In the end I'd want Ewan to win though. Unless Jude is nominated for supporting & Ewan for lead or vice-versa, then they could both win.

Yea, I don't want to get my hopes too high and then be disappointed if it does not happen.

Well, yes Vic, sometimes being a Ewanite can be disapointing, I mean what really makes me mad is that crappy actors like Vin Diseal are more famous than Ewan, in America anyway.

I know. It's horrible that Ewan is a better actor than a lot of other people in Hollywood but doesn't get the credit he deserves.

I know, I was very disappointed when Ewan wasn't nominated for Moulin Rouge...

Lots of film people were, trust me. I think it's quite possible that both Ewan and Jude could be nominated at the Oscars, and I'm almost 100% sure that at least their movies will so they will probably both be there.

I believe there are 5 books in the Hitchhiker's Guide trilogy, yes That's the kind of books they are

It's a very independant movie. It was a piece of crap that their company, Natural Nylon did in 2000. The only reason I have it is cos all of the group, cept Ewan is in it and the slash content. Ewan was filming Nora and couldn't be in it.

I really doubt they'll get nominated. I really doubt it. But, I'd like to be proven wrong. I just know the Academy and what they are like. Then again, they do like weird films, so you never know.

Cold Mountain is your standard Oscar-bait: Miramax, directed by Anthony Minghella, adapted from a bestseller, starring former Academy Award winners and nominees.

Of course, that didn't help The Talented Mr. Ripley any, but since this one is less... gay and twisted, it could prove one tough contender. And if Jude could snag a nod of Ripley, he'll probably snag one for this.

As for Ewan... I don't know. Big Fish has a lot of buzz, but...

too bad it was a piece of crap. It sucks that the group got together to film a movie and he couldn't be included. Was Nora worth him being absent from the movie?
I've noticed that Jude is in a lot of homo erotic movies. But I haven't seen too many of his.

Xan - I agree. Miramax is always making movies so it can get Oscar nominations. I don't know if Cold Mountian will be good or not but....
If Big Fish gets enough promotion and buzz I think it could definitely be a contender for movies and lead/supporting actor. Maybe neither Ewan or Jude would win but a nomination would be great.

Oh, yeah yeah, you mean Young Zaphod Plays it Safe? I think that's between the 4th and 5th books. I need to read those again but my friend still has my leather-bound, gold-tipped paper copy of it We were discussing those books in my philosophy class today, the bit about the 'Somebody Else's Business' drive.

I think Cold Mountain looks really good, but Big Fish most definitely looks more original.

I think they released a new book... I forgot the title, but there's a new Hitchhiker's book. (Not completely new, but anyway.)
