how old were you when you first saw The Birds?
Like 7, 8 years old...but I was older when I watched RW and still I was scared

I feel bad that I don't find Hitchcock movies that great because all the film buffs look down on me.
Hehe, I don´t think there is any reason to feel bad or to look down at someone just because you don´t like what everybody else considers a classic. I do think Hitch was a movie genius and a watershed for suspense films too, but times change and what you consider a master piece today can be old fashioned tomorrow...
And although I love the film, I agree that The Birds is not AH at his best. I´d say it provides quite mocking material for his fans and critics as well

Quote:
What I mean about Hitchcockian style in films like CD and yeah definitely SG as well (probably that one even moreso than this one) are the themes of ordinary people presented with a moral dilemma, and falling into criminal behaviour. It's something that happens in many, many Hitch films and I think it sets up great questions in a film.
I agree Strangers on a train could be another example...

I need to watch SG again in order to compare characters...I can´t remember much beyond Alex right now

I need to see more of his movies to appreciate him. Maybe something not so campy(/retarded)

I still think Michael Bay should stay away from remaking The Birds.

Terry is more the Alex type, who is drawn in but has a moral reluctance he ultimately turns around on.
I agree about Ian/David being alike, but I feel like Alex never had moral reluctance, at least not in the beginning, because he was always into the idea of taking the money. Even at the end (if he indeed lived), he had the money everyone wanted.

I bought CD yesterday It was only 6 dollars

But considering there are no special features, I'd say the price was fair.

$20 each isn't bad considering whole seasons usually cost $40.
