Not really. He seemed so genuine especially when he gave out that speech about science and church helping each other *shakes head*.

I can't rewatch the scene where he dies, that's for sure

I covered my eyes the second time in the cinema.

I usually don't want so see Ewan's character die either but I rather he die a innocent hero than have his character massacred for a silly plot twist.

but you won't see his character butchered. In your mind you can think he lives, everyone loves him, and he's declared pope.

So I saw the film again on Monday afternoon. I went to see it with my friend,who's just a big as Ewan fan as I am. The whole time we were watching it I couldn't keep still. I was so eager to tell her about Patrick,but I kept quiet til the end. Then when the time came and he burned she screamed, and I was laughing hysterically. We were kind of obnoxious,caused a little scene

I have to say the film is even better the second time. I didn't really pick up on any clues about Patrick's motives or anything,but I did get a better understanding of the film. I have to say I really love the speech Carmerlengo gives to the College of Cardinals

I liked it more the second time...

I love that line too...His speech made me root for him even more.

that's usually how movies are for me when I watch them. They're better the second time. I guess I got more into the plot this time since the hype of "OMG It's Ewan!

" died down

His speech was very powerful

. I love the emphasis he puts on the word "awesome"

. It was just a disappointment to have the whole plot twist on you like that. But I guess Ewan can't always play the "good" guy.I like to see him explore different types of characters,it's what he's good at

I don't mind Ewan playing bad but in this film it was character assisination.
