The thing is, Leverkusen fought through that game so well, and then those damn penalties. Such a shame Bender was off and couldn't take one, at least he'd have hit the back of the net, or at the very least been on target. Those guys shot horrendous penalties

BVB better not, I cannot take another game like that, not two nights in a row

miranstarr 03-18-2015 03:47 PM

Sorry, I haven't been on. In the last 5 days (excluding the weekend), I worked 52.5 hours and was way too tired. I hate work lol.

There's a LOT room for improvement when it comes to penalties

Don't get me started on the BVB game, what is so hard about scoring and doing a good job at defending again? :pout:

...I just, I don't know, what the hell happened?! It was like the beginning of the season all over again, just... awful.

I'm so happy about the National Team Squad, though :bunny:

Exactly! Just finished watching todays game... lets just say that there's still lots of room for improvement :sigh:

Yes... a lot. Though I see they won today, but I didn't get to see the game.

I also find it rather cool they've given Reus Miro's number now.

It was a rather decent game. Lets hope they'll manage to play more consistent from now on.

That's one of the first things that caught my eye - great choice if you ask me!

Are you watching the Bayern game?

Shame they didn't play like that in their CL game! :goof:

I would have to agree, he will do it justice. Out of those they could've given the number to, it's definitely a good fit.

I couldn't as I was making dinner for the family when it was on, I kept tabs via twitter and the app, and oh my god... I saw the first goal on a clip, too :nono: It's not often THAT happens to Manu :goof:

Honestly, I leave them alone for one game, and they go and lose on me

miranstarr 03-23-2015 07:46 PM

 How is everyone doing? March Madness is upon the United States.

Absolutely, where was Aubameyang then?? those two goals he scored this weekend could have been useful against Juventus...

Absolutely! These are a bit big shoes to fill, but I think Reus will do briliantly and make Germany proud :)

Yes, it doesn't happen often, indeed. Sometimes it amazes me how we tend to forget he's human too, and when that shows, we are sooo surprised :D

Ghost.Of.You 03-24-2015 04:40 PM

Shocked to hear of the Germanwings plane that went down today

Is this a shopping thing, or... in general? :look:

He can do it

It does, the amount of commentators that comment on him as though he is a machine is a little unnerving. It seems he's getting a rest tomorrow, though as Jogi has said Manu won't play against the Socceroos.

I'm so looking forward to watching this game :yay:

Yes, it's so sad and tragic... No transport is 100 percent safe, but still, it's shocking how one of the safest forms of transport doesn't seem to be that safe..

Of course he can :in_love:

It is unnerving indeed, and it's not only him - everybody considers the whole team machines or robots, especially after the World Cup match against Brazil. And the expectations are sooo high, which is unfair, because they're athletes, but people too. I have taken part in only one tennis tournament in my life, and even though it was for beginners, so to say, it was soo tense and stuff, it's easy for one to talk how athletes behave, it's totally different to be out there and have to live up to all expectations.

Otherwise, the game was strange in a way - I definitely did not expect such a line-up from Löw. I understand that he's probably keeping some of the big boys, so to say, for the qualifier match, but it was still strange. Höwedes's gestures at the beginning of the match and during it again proved how wonderful a person he is, I am still melting :in_love:

It seems it's more to do with the co-pilot, which is so shockingly terrible :(

This just reminds me of that interview where the press were being snarky about this, and Julian Draxler came out with 'We're not robots!' Love that kid, such delivery and totally true. The media need to know when to back off and not over-step boundaries.

I don't think anyone expected that line up, but I suppose he [Jogi] has to try different 11's together to find out the strong/weak points, so it's not a bad way to do it in a friendly. When you consider that starting 11 had 2 guys who haven't played in the NT in a couple of years, and some others that are quite new to the NT, they didn't do completley awful - they did create chances, they just somehow managed to mess 'em up  PLUS, I do think there was a little underestimating the Socceroos, which was a bad idea because they don't have a team that will just accept defeat; they play well, and they do attack - as they showed. I'm sure the line up will be different for the game against Georgia, but as for friendlies - though it is no good for my heart at times - I don't mind seeing the others come in and try out.

Höwedes was such a sweetheart that entire game. His gesture for the flight, and his handing the Captaincy over to Mesut was so lovely. He always seems such a darling.

So horrible :( And to think the co-pilot most likely deliberately brought the plane down. I can't even comprehend what the families of those 150 people must be going through

It's a sports thing - college basketball I think, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

I suppose everyone needs a break every now and then. And things can happen, even the best ones can miss a ball or make a mistake, so I don't think why people are making such a big thing about it.

 I always expect such things from Löw, especially if it's just a test match. I'm sure we'll the best team on Sunday. Hopefully they'll play a whole lot better. That said, Poldi scored :D

Loved Höwedes holding that sign during the anthem, such a great thing to do.
