~*~DISCUSSION STARTER~*~:

What is your favorite LOTR soloist track?

*********************************************************
Okay, so maybe I am.

Our other thread must have fallen off Middle Earth, so here we are again.

All of the soundtracks get to me emotionally, but of course Return of the King is something else entirely.

What I love about this CD especially, is that you hear all of the different themes at last. Gondor, Rohan, Rivendell, Mordor, the Hobbit themes...

I admit it, I start crying during track 15 (The Black Gate Opens), especially when I hear the part when Sam and Frodo are on the slopes of Mount Doom. I believe it's a tin whistle playing.

Who can keep a straight face during the coronation when everyone pays homage to the hobbits?

Certainly not me. The Return of the King soundtrack is an especially emotional one for me, probably the most out of the three. I love hearing all the differrent themes interwoven with one another. It in fact is the music tied up with all other things that made the music so sad. But I really loved the vocals on this soundtrack. Renée has such a beautiful voice, that I tear up every time I hear her. Twilight and Shadow is by far one of my favorite tracks, and it bugs the buhjeezes out of me that I cannot find the lyrics anywhere. All in all, major kudos to Howard and staff.

A scary thing: the first time I saw RoTK I didn't reallyu like the soundtrack! The first time I saw FoTR & then TTT the music made me cry directly!

But, when I saw it [RoTK] the 2nd time, I found it amazing and just great! I couldn't stop crying because of the music was so great! So, then I actually did go and buy the CD!

by the way.. what on earth am I talking about?

It could have been that you were paying more attention to the movie itself the first time. I don't remember that much from the soundtrack the first time either.

I think I've finally gotten past crying every time I play the soundtrack.

Uh oh...Into the West just started playing...sniff sniff

I bawl my eyes out when I play "Into the West". My gawd. And yes, I listen to "Return of the King" over and over again but simply to hear Viggo singing elvish!

I am soooo excited about this. I've got a ticket to see Howard Shore conduct his scores from the three movies at London's Festival Hall It's not til May, but I can't wait. I love his use of orchestra and voices, so to see the great man conduct his great stuff will be probably too much for my little emotions to cope with

OMG! You are so lucky! I would love you go to that. I mean the music on all the sound tracks are beautiful. My favourite songs on the albums are May it be and any songs related to Edoras because of when the violins start to play, it really gets to me. I also really love the song Helms Deep as that is my favourite fight scene ever!

As soon as I hear the opening theme, or the hobbits theme I shall be wailing and weeping. I'm a music teacher and I keep playing parts of the score to my students! Not that I'm brainwashing them or anything...honestly...

Yeah, this was definately an amazing soundtrack. When Viggo sings...I just about die. I also love track 19, probably my favorite.

I have to listen to the LOTR soundtracks by myself because I keep tearing up. I can't listen to "Into the West" without getting traumatized. My favorite song on any of the soundtracks is "The Steward of Gondor" because I'm in love with Billy Boyd's voice!

Okay so maybe I cry just a little...or a lot!

This soundtrack is so amazing compared to the other ones cause you can imagine all the scenes so vividly just by listening to the music. I always start to get teary-eyed during "The Black Gates Open." Whenever I hear "Into the West" I start to get really sad.

I just have one thing to say: I was very displeased that there were no Led Zeppelin songs on there. "Ramble On" or "Battle of Evermore" would have been perfect.

This soundtrack is really amazing
You can see scenes from the movie just by listening to the music.
I can't listen to "Into the West" without getting tears in my eyes
