Iron Fist Season One General Discussion {#1}

general discussion
{ season one }

Marvel's Iron Fist, or simply Iron Fist, is an American web television series developed for Netflix by Scott Buck, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films of the franchise and is the fourth in a series of shows that will lead up to The Defenders crossover miniseries. The series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios, with Buck serving as showrunner.

Danny Rand returns to New York City, after being presumed dead for 15 years, to reclaim his family company. When a threat emerges, Rand must choose between his family's legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.

Sounds like The Hand will need all 4 heroes to beat.

Finally done with the show. Whew, took a while.

I agree that The Hand needs to be defeated by The Defenders and Danny can't just do it alone. Even Matt/DD can't take them all down.

The pacing of the show reminded me of Luke Cage. However I like the villains here more. I wish there was more brutality to the fight scenes but I understand that the fluidity of it is because of the presence of martial arts. I just think that they can improve on the fight scenes more because some of it looks choreographed.

Acting-wise, I thought everyone did a good job. No complaints. Strongest for me was David Wenham.

However, Daredevil is still my favorite of all these Marvel-Netflix shows. The show can improve with some storylines as I felt that some of the eps dragged off a little. It only really picked up for me when we find out that Bakuto is part of The Hand. But the show has potential and a S2 can fix some things.

Congrats on finishing!

I do agree it was slow during some parts, but binge-watching made it seem not so bad. I couldn't see me coming back week after week if it didn't air all at once, but maybe so since it is a superhero show.

I probably should've binge-watched it. I know I liked DD and JJ more because I binge-watched those. LC took me a while to finish because I was so busy that time. I just can't seem to be able to binge-watch these days.

That's the dilemma - lack of time. I just decided I would use all day Friday devoted to binge-watching Iron Fist. We were on Spring Break so that made it possible. But I do get it; my weekends have been pretty busy since then. Have a lot of work for graduate courses now it is reaching the end.

Binge watching really helped for me
I loved it, but had it been this slow paced and I had to wait every week, I wouldn't have done that.
I would've waited for it to be done and then binge

All the Netflix shows I've watched works better when it's binge watched, instead of doing it slowly because they are all great but they tend to have some slow pace in some episodes. Which is why it has taken me so long to watch these Marvel shows, the first time I tried to watch Daredevil when it premiered I didn't binge, so I got bored and forgot about watching the rest... Now I've watched them all and I loved them.

I do agree with what Lindsay said about the fighting scenes looking a bit too choreographed at times so that's something they could improve.
