I like the fact that they are like Romeo and Juliet, supposed to be opposing planets but finding a balance in the middle. They might be different but somehow find they have a lot in common than one thinks. Both don't have any immediate family still alive (aside that Kara's cousin Kal-El (aka Superman lives) but aside from that both their planets are gone and somehow being on Earth they have found common ground. Their bond is really building up nicely and this slow burn between them works.

I just say go with the flow and see what happens. At least you know there was reaction on both their ends when they kissed. So you know its something and not nothing.
