Kara is no more she is Supergirl ! Ahh Brainy and Nia together . Jessie had to wear the make up in every scene .. I wonder if Nixly gets out of the phantom zone again, maybe goes after Superman/Lois . Cat grant was a nice surprise, about 20 minutes into the second episode, I was wondering why Cat hadn’t showed up. Loved her phone call scenes with Kara .

it didnt seem like a finale to me. I wanted to see more of Kara and Cat together. now that she knows her secret I wanna know what happens now that she gave that interview and the whole world now knows who she is.

and I wanted to see more of Mon-El. seems like everyone else got more screen time but him.

so glad Brainy stayed to be with Nia. they are so great together.

loved Alex and Kelly's wedding.

esma is such a cute kid

I mean given that they filming location issues with Callista and COVID going on, I'm just glad they were able to get her on the show for the finale... but yeah... it would be nice for another episode, or specials (like Doctor Who does) to show more of what happened after... though in theory they could have her show up on other shows. They are supposed to be on the same Earth now, so I am a bit surprised there's less mention of the other heroes like The Flash.

Part of me did wonder if Crisis possibly changed some of the events in a way that Cat Grant no longer knew the truth about Kara... but when they mentioned the room they hid in where Barry was in when he hopped into their Earth it very much led me to believe she still knew, and was later confirmed.

ETA: Did anyone else notice that Kara was watching a news report about a cat needing rescued, and the second she shut off the TV... Cat Grant called? They had to of done that on purpose.

Jenn.... yes, I wanted Kara find her one true love.... but after MonEl...it never seemed to happen.... maybe she got back with Jimmy unless Jimmy found hi OTL already...I don't remember.

I wonder if Luthor escapes from phantom zone and goes after Superman in second season of Lois and Superman

seems like Kara will stay single forever when she said more than once she wanted a partner and almost everyone got a partner at the end but her, these writers hate her

this is a great review of the finale: https://www.spoilertv.com/2021/11/su...a-reviews.html

Quote:
For the final episode of Supergirl to be entitled Kara it had extraordinarily little to do about the character. The writers either could not or did not want to figure out a compelling story to tell for Supergirl other than Alex getting married and having a child. Alex actually ends up getting an entire character arc her sister did not. Kara choosing to reveal her identity and stay behind and become the new Catco Editor-In-Chief as her real self comes across as a very unsatisfying conclusion, at least to this reviewer, because it was saying that Supergirl wasn’t allowed to balance her Superhero self and a happy relationship and virtually every other Arrowverse superhero before her has done. Why does she have to end up being alone? This again makes no sense especially after taking into consideration the show’s entire 100th episode It’s a Super Life expertly explaining why keeping her two identities separate. It’s as though the CW took delight in putting Supergirl and her fans down.
THIS.

I watched like 5 or 6 episodes in a row because I hadn't been watching so they are all sort of blurred together in my mind.

I will preface this by saying I don't like children. I do not enjoy hearing them & do not enjoy watching them. Kids & babies often ruin shows for me. I will also say that I don't subscribe to the Disney/fairy tale idea that everyone has a "one true love"/"soulmate" or that people have to be coupled to be happy. There are many people who feel fulfilled & happy without a romantic partner. So I feel that Kara doesn't need to be paired off with anyone to find her true happiness.

I also don't like weddings. I find them boring & sappy. So, the finale was quite the stinker for me in many ways: Rushed plot, long prolonged boring wedding, lack of creativity for solutions about the future, scenes with a small child (even though I do think the actress playing Esme does a good job & she's not as annoying as many kids are).

M'onel's appearance was too brief. He didn't even seem to interact with Brainy at all. I get there was Covid & distancing stuff, but it would have been nice for him to have been happy to see Brainy or note that he's now green. Brainy didn't get a goodbye to anyone but Nia when he was leaving. It wasn't even clear if they all knew he was going to sacrifice himself when he left. Brainy's "sprock the future" attitude was a bit dismaying (especially when I think there are ways he can still save Coluans in the future). The whole reason he came back in time in the first place was to change the past to stop a plague. So, why can't he get the cure they found later in the future, go back a few years/months or whatever and introduce it before the Big Brain sustained too much damage so his merging is not necessary? The whole "the longer I spend in this time" thing is such absolute garbage. So long as he returns to the right point in time in the future, it doesn't matter how long he stays in the past. The future hasn't happened yet. I am also dismayed that he would risk making it so Nura will never exist though.

But I was not as dismayed as I was about Alex going full selfish moron mode about a child she'd only recently met. She betrayed her sister. her friends, her planet, her whole ideal as a hero etc on the off chance she *might* be able to save one child. Nevermind that handing over the magical stone things to Lex Luther was pretty much suicide and it was almost certain he would then turn around and kill Alex, everyone she loved (including Esme), and possibly the entire planet. There would be mass death & destruction. If Esme somehow survived, she'd be an orphan again. They had ALL of the pieces of the damn stone so why not use it to save Esme while stopping Lex & Nyxly? Yeah, I get the having more power doesn't make right thing was a theme, but sometimes you need to have power & use it. It was so idiotic and out-of-character.

I was disappointed we didn't see Myxy again. I was hoping we'd get to see him one last time, but I understand with Covid that might not have been possible. I was glad to see Jimmy and Cat Grant.

I finally started to like William & they killed him off. I kept thinking they would use the stones to restore him but then they had a funeral. No funeral for Lena's adopted mom, but I can understand why. She wasn't well-liked.

While I think Lex fully deserved to go to the Phantom Zone, I didn't think it was really right for Nyxly to get sent back. She'd already suffered so much. Sure she did bad things, but she it's more because she was traumatized. The actress did a great job with the character and I liked how she interacted with Esme. I kind of wish they had redeemed her and had her help Esme more or something.

I always thought that Cat Grant knew Kara was Supergirl. I didn't start watching until Brainiac 5 joined the show so I don't know if they ever established whether or not she knew before Crisis. Even knowing she's Supergirl she's still calling her by the wrong name. LOL.

I do wish Kara had seemed happier at the end. So much time was wasted on the wedding that we didn't really get much development for Kara herself (so I agree with the review). Did anyone else think about how her costume is tethered to her glasses so leaving her glasses somewhere wasn't the best idea? Unless she moved the costume somewhere else.

Also, did they forget that they established that Kara revealing her identity would mean everyone she loved would be murdered? What happened to that? Did she get Myxy to do her a favor and make it so people wouldn't go after her family or something? I'm glad they at least mentioned him.

I'm glad they didn't kill Kara off, but something about this felt unresolved somehow. At least it may be open to future spinoffs or episodes should they decide to relaunch again in the future. I was a bit disappointed we never had Brainy singing. I know Jesse can sing and was hoping we would get at least one song out of him. But no, we had Wynn singing instead. I admit, I never really warmed to him. I fastforwarded through a bit of the wedding because it was too tedious. I watched it online so it was the "extended" version.

I will say, everything with Alex and Kelly's wedding, and Kara big reveal was very appropriate. I loved that Cat finally revealed that she knew all along her big secret. It was great to see Cat in the finale, even against an obviously CGI paradise background, but hey, I can live with that.

It was awesome seeing everyone come together to fight Nxyly and Lex in the streets of National City, and seeing Eliza return to help and that line, about being a Kryptonian was perfect. Whoever came up with that in the writer's room, deserves kudos! Beautiful finale, I feel everything came circle.
