Smallville was my first real exposure to the Superman story. Before then, I'm pretty sure I just knew what Superman looked like and the fact he was a superhero.

You kind of have to cut them some slack and keep that it was what they could do in mind as you watch

Look at it this way, you wouldn't have today's effects if they hadn't evolved from those old effects, they deserve some respect

I guess I started my trip to Krypton with the old 70s-80s movies (I'm including the old Supergirl movie too), as well as the cartoons that the characters showed up in. Everything else followed (watching all the live-action TV shows, seeing the newer movies, reading the comic books, etc).
