I know. I don't want to start all the threads because I want to give others chances.
I had so much fun with my niece today at the fair Cece, I'm gonna move our talk about our names from the introduction thread to here. But yes, it's pronounced the same. If you ever seen OTH, it's literally said the same way. It's weird, because at work, my name is RIGHT in front of people's face and they still can't spell it right Can I ask your name before you changed it? __________________

Awwe, fun times at the fair! I like the food at our state fair, but all the rides cost money. It's not like Six Flags (amusement park) where you pay one entrance fee and you can go on rides as many times as you want.
My name has gone through lots of changes. I'm Chinese so my first name was just "Si" - in China it is common to double up that one syllable so I was called "Sisi" as a nickname. Well, it is pronounced like two C's. People would call me the Spanish pronunciation of "Si" as saying "Yes". It's not pronounced like "Yes Yes" (but in Spanish) So when I became a US citizen, I "Americanized" it! And changed my nickname to "Cece" There's a Cici's Pizza here, but I didn't like it spelled "Cici" so I started writing "Cece" on my papers and it caught on. My "Americanized" name is Cecilia. __________________

The rides here don't cost money but the games do. I'm originally from Florida and we had what's called a youth fair, when I was younger it was good as we got older it got crappier and crappier, but since I moved out of state nothing is good as the youth fair. but it was fun since my niece is not 2 yet
Oh I could see how Cece, it'd be annoying especially with people calling you SiSi the yes yes version. That would drive me crazy. Yeah, I can see why you'd change it you Cece. Funny thing at work has gotten me wanting to change my spelling but I don't think I will |

Awwe, I bet. I can imagine her wanting to go everywhere. When there are large crowds, I like people watching.
Even the teachers would mispronounce it. But now I get a bit tired of telling teachers that I have a nickname when they read the roll sheet, so I've instead just let them call me by my legal first name until I've gotten to know the class and professors better and it just weaves into conversations. It's a struggle I sometimes wish I had a more common name with no nickname. Because some people spell "Cecilia" as "Cecelia" NO. Not right. __________________

I get it because I'm the same way, I've gotten sick of correcting people.
Omg I'm so tired, I wonder if I can watch the rest of this Flashpoint episode before going to bed since I got work tomorrow |

I gave up correcting people on how to spell my name. People spell it wrong even when it right in front of them.

^Is it still said the same way as Courtney? I know I've never seen it spelt Courtnay. I actually thought you misspelled your name when you posted it here

First time for me to see it spelled as Courtnay also - but I like it! We seem like a unique bunch. How do YOU pronounce it Courtnay? CourtNEIGH or CourtNEE?

Hello, everyone!
Haylie, I love your name, and know how to spell/pronounce it. It's the same way Haylie Duff spells her name. I love the OTH reference because I always think of Haley Scott when I hear the name "Haley", no matter how it is spelled. Obviously, Jessica is an easy name to say & spell, but never assume I want to be called, "Jessie". Jess is fine, no Jessie. Cece, I love your name, too! It reminds me of Cece from New Girl. |
