Tonight on the Lena Luthor show:
- It was cool to see Acrata - Looks like they reused the cut scene between Lex and Lena from last season. - Why did Brainy just randomly take his Legion ring off? - Lena’s out here just double crossing everyone - Lena: Do no harm. Also Lena: Threatens to have Russell kill himself if Andrea doesn’t give her the pretty medallion. But sure. She’s not a villain… - On a side note: I have a feeling Old Leviathan Woman and Old Levithan Man are the same person. __________________

I'm waiting to watch it. Internet won't be unthrottled until tomorrow & I don't get the CW out here.
Did its show Brainy taking off his ring or was it just off? I noticed in a previous episode he wasn't wearing it. Not sure if it was deliberate or if they just forgot. |

Edit: It's not up yet. No idea why. The older episodes are there but for some reason this episode is not. I guess I have to wait for it to be put up or for it to come out on DVD to see it. I hope they aren't going to do this with the rest of the episodes this season or I will be stuck having to wait for the DVDs. Wish I could figure out how to get CW on Dishnetwork. 2nd Edit: Turns out the episode is there but it was hidden. Someone told me to swipe in the app (but I'm using a PC so I found there was an arrow- although it was gray so I thought it wasn't active) and the episode was more to the right instead of at the end with newer stuff. Loading it now. Last edited by zannej; 11-13-2019 at 04:58 PM |

Ok, I finally got to watch it (got interrupted to make dinner & also from my elderly dog who fell down in an awkward way & couldn't get back on her feet so I had to pick her up & set her on her feet & steady her until she was stable enough to walk).
I agree that it was odd that Brainy conveniently had his Legion ring off at just the right moment. It didn't look like he was playing with it-- just showed he was putting it back on. Maybe he had been cleaning it? Not quite sure how the "Do no harm" protocol would have overridden his ability to put his ring back on OR why he went & attacked Alex while saying "Do no harm". Pretty sure fighting her went against that-- unless he was somehow separately being incepted? I did like the fighting techniques, but still think it's dumb that they aren't all constantly equipped with tech to prevent inception at almost all times. Pretty sure Brainy's ring prevents it-- which is why it was off. The backstory with Lena & Andrea was interesting- although it's odd that someone from Leviathan was magically right there when the medallion was discovered. So, Hope can pretty much magically translate stuff because she's an AI? Or was it something from Eve's knowledge? If it's from the AI, then Brainy should be as good at translating things. At least he realized it wasn't Malefic behind the attack. The killing of Riproar at the end didn't make sense. They could have still used him & he wasn't going to blab anything to the DEO now that he was free. It only helped to alienate Andrea more. It was too senseless. J'onn was barely used & I missed Kelly & Nia in this one. But, it was still entertaining & held my interest for the most part. We probably could have done with fewer flashback scenes with Lena & Andrea and more current scenes of what's going on with the rest of the team. It did at least explain why Lena is so triggered by betrayal though. But she's somewhat inconsistent in the "do no harm" but threaten to kill people (or make them kill themselves) bit. |

I kind of understand now why Lena is angry with Kara for lying to her but when you compare what Andrea did to Kara's secret, it doesn't really compare. Really good episode though. I like how Andrea's story tied so closely to why things spiraled out of control in Lena's life. It was all tied to that medallion.

I liken it to how my best friend acted toward his new girlfriend when they were first dating. He'd previously been in a relationship with an extremely abusive, manipulative, & horrible girlfriend so whenever his new girlfriend did anything even similar to things his ex did that he didn't like he would overreact. Sometimes if he even thought she was going to start acting like his ex he would freak out. He was so damaged from the bad relationship that any little thing would set him off (mind you, this was in conjunction with him having a traumatic brain injury from a bad accident). It took almost a year for him to relax & not flip out over stuff. Lena said in the episode after this that she killed her brother to protect Supergirl only to learn that she'd been lied to. She (mistakenly) believed that Kara thought she was stupid & played her for a fool. She's a very emotionally damaged person who had a messed up childhood. That doesn't excuse the behavior but it at least explains why she feels the way she does. |
