- Human survival instincts messed with the Non Nochere and NOT Kara using myriad? Gee… who would have thought there would be complications? Looks like Lena’s righteous indignation was misplaced.

Also, I had to laugh when Lena accused Lex of being a megalomaniac and calling himself a saviour.

Lena, honey? Isn't that what YOU’VE been doing all season with your little Q-Waves experiments? And last season when you tried to give people superpowers and ended up killing poor Adam? Pot. Kettle. Black.

Oh well. At least she finally apologized to Kara for being a bi*ch to her for so long.

- J’ONN: I like wearing this face.
THE CW: We have no budget to make CG for Martian Manhunter for more than a few seconds every 3-4 episodes, so here's J'onn to handwave it away.

- I loved that Brainy called Kara and Nia out when they complained about not letting them into the interrogation by pointing out they didn’t tell him when they found Rama Khan.

I also loved Brainy speaking alien languages that no one else knows (12th Level Intellect and all)

- I DID NOT love Nia getting MAD at Brainy for speaking an alien language no one else knows. That made NO sense whatsoever.

I also DID NOT love Nia refusing to give Brainy the benefit of the doubt and automatically assuming he’s not trustworthy. Brainy has been there for the Superfriends despite whatever has been going on at the DEO with Lex, yet she suddenly jumps to “I don’t know you and I don’t trust you”?

Are we really supposed to root for this relationship to work? If you love someone (as Nia claims to love Brainy), then you should give them some leeway if they’re stuck working for an evil mastermind and can’t tell you stuff. It usually means they’re trying to protect you.

- Aaaaaaaaand there goes the DEO.

I’ve been wanting them to take the DEO out of the equation since last season. Let the Superfriends just work as their own team going forward.

Man, when Jesse said in an interview that the world was crumbling around Brainy, I guess he meant it literally.
I saw some spoiler-ish paparazzi photos prior to the episode so I knew the DEO was going to be destroyed. There was a cut scene apparently where Brainy was sitting in the rubble looking at the DEO symbol on the floor & then he got up to get in the limo.

I truly hope that Brainy is done letting Lex manipulate him & that he has a way to redeem himself by thwarting Lex & taking down Leviathan.

I liked Brainy speaking another language & liked that Jesse got to have scenes with Mitch Pileggi. For a few moments I forgot about Director Skinner from X-Files.

I wonder if this means there is no more DEO or if they will set up HQ somewhere else. Supergirl was obviously pissed at Brainy, but at least she didn't chew him out.

I suspect Nia's distrust of Brainy stems more from the dreams she's been having. She doesn't know how to interpret them so she may be thinking they are telling her he's a bad guy.

I have to agree that J'onn wanting to stay in human form was an excuse for CW to not have to bust their CGI budget on him.

Is it wrong that I want to see Brainy throat-punch Lex at some point? Just an unexpected throat-punch & walk away. Bonus points if he does it in front of DEO employees.

Is anyone else wondering if Pete will turn out to be working for Leviathan now & only pretended to be helping & claimed to be in danger so he could disappear?

I can't bring myself to care or worry about William. They are trying too hard to make him a love interest for Kara & it's not working. There is zero chemistry.

Something funny-- at one point when a door got busted through (or maybe it was an explosion) one of my cats threw himself at my door so hard it popped my door open-- happened at the same moment as the scene. I was looking over saying "WTF?"

Maybe Brainy can get the future cube back from Lena now-- unless she left it at the prison. I hope she didn't.

Some other thoughts: Was most of the DEO building an illusion? There was not nearly enough rubble for a building of that size to have collapsed. I've seen houses that left more rubble than that.

Do DEO agents have emergency teleporters? They got out very fast. Like, Brainy said evacuate, a few people ran, and they were all gone. Did the prisoners get evacuated? Did they get crushed? Did anyone get killed or hurt? I can't remember if they said.

I'm a bit confused about who the woman is that J'onn was kissing. Was she someone from an earlier season? I like her, but don't know her backstory.

I liked the Kelly was being useful, but did they forget that Nia is a journalist as well? They rarely show her at work. I don't know if its just the writers being inconsistent or if Nia is being a hypocrite (or just lacking self-awareness) but her spiel about vowing to support him "no matter what" is absolutely untrue. She dropped the support as soon as he said he couldn't be with her anymore & she was rude to him after that. Sure she was hurt, but her behavior afterward was the opposite of being supportive.

I wonder how Ramakan knew that Brainy was Coluan (unless Lex told Gemma who then told him).

I hope the DEO relocates because I like the agent characters. I want to see Brainy interacting with them. I imagine he'll probably resign because he feels he failed them, but I liked him as the leader & wanted to see him actually leading more.

I wonder if Lena will tell Kara that Brainy is working with Lex.

I'm also wondering when William will go away. LOL.

For an episode called "The Missing Link," I was really hoping for some answers about what is Leviathan's end game. Seriously, what is the Master Plan? Still nothing. I'm still not getting why they are a threat. Is it world domination, enslavement of the human race? What is their thing? I just want my villains to be transparent about their motives. At least you can trust that Lex will be straight forward about his endgame.

Anyway, I thought it was a gutsy move for the show to literally destroy the DEO.

I am really starting to hate Brainy's character assassination.

Yay, Lena finally sees the light and all of Lex's manipulations!

I'm guessing the lack of rubble is due to budget constraints

That's M'Gann aka Ms Martian. She's a white martian that showed up a few times in Seasons 2 and 3. She wasn't around in Season 4, but now she's back.

This is what I've been saying.

Don't get me wrong, I actually really like Nia... but I've always had a problem with the way she treats Brainy.

Last season when he was "rebooted", he was still helping Supergirl and made a plan to find where all the kidnapped aliens had been taken. His plan worked, but Nia was mad at him so she went straight to attacking him instead of showing concern that he was acting "off" -- or maybe she just didn't notice something was wrong with him, which is a whole other issue for a couple the show insists on pushing together.

Earlier this season, she told Brainy to be himself, then yelled at him for it (the poetry and the food) instead of talking to him and explaining what the issue was. This caused Brainy to feel he had to "change" for her, which is not a healthy thing in a relationship.

And now what you mentioned above -- instead of giving Brainy the benefit of the doubt, she yelled at him again and told him she didn't trust him.

I think the DEO has been replaced by The Tower now, which I actually prefer. The Superfriends can do their own thing without interference.

The mention of a special invite to Leviathan's ship implies that they're aliens, when I thought it was established earlier in the season that they were gods. Which is it?!

I guess Post-Crisis, they're now Techno-organic aliens who either 1) think that they're equal to gods or 2) Were assumed to be gods by ancient civilizations

Now, I feel like a flashback origin episode for these guys would have been useful, but oh well, we're almost to the finale.

I also found it funny that Lex and Lena's prisoners weren't using VR to escape violent reality but something as simple as yoga exercises. Namaste!

@Obisgirl, I do feel something is certainly missing from the plot explanations. The Leviathan motivation doesn't make sense. Supposedly they want to save/protect the earth from humans, but they cause major disasters that damage the ozone layer, kill animals, destroy forestlands, & literally tear up the ground. It's like a "we have to burn the village to save it" type thing.

They are a threat because they want to kill off the humans. Ramakan was trying to accomplish it with mass destruction of the land but Gemma wants to get as many people as they can in VR & then instantly kill them. Her genocidal plans seem somewhat more humane & less destructive- lull them in so they feel comfortable & then boom, dead. Swift & painless with no fear from knowing they are about to die. Plus no destruction of the environment.
But, if they want to protect the environment from humans, why so much destruction of it before? It makes zero sense.

I think they were drawing from reality a bit with the yoga. There's a school in the US that did experiments where instead of putting kids in detention they had a yoga instructor get them to meditate & do some yoga stretches. It helped the kids to focus, reduced their anxiety, & helped them to learn how to calm themselves before they lost their tempers. The program was open for kids to go to the yoga/meditation sessions voluntarily without being in trouble if they felt they needed it to relax. It vastly cut back on behavior issues in the school. I wish they'd do that at the schools where I live-- instead they just beat the kids with a paddle & wonder why the kids hate school, have a very high dropout rate, and still have behavior problems & end up hating authority figures when they are older.

Which brings me back to Leviathan. If they want the humans to stop whatever behavior it is they object to, why not try to guide them to it instead of killing them? Also, how did they find out that Leviathan were techno-organic? That just came out of nowhere. Although, maybe they are somewhat related to Coluans and that is how Brainy knew the language & how Ramakan knew Brainy was Coluan.

Elektra, I have to totally agree that Nia has never really treated Brainy right. He kept saying he loved her & she never reciprocated until right before he took the inhibitors off. She said she was going to support him & then asked him who he was when he broke up with her. If she'd been mature & actually supportive, she could have asked him why. And if he couldn't answer, she could have said that she was going to give him space to adapt to the changes but she'd still be there for him. But no, she goes right into sulking & giving him the cold shoulder-- and literally shoulder-bumping him when she had a vision she didn't like. That said, I think a lot of it stems from her insecurities and immaturity. She's pretty young & I think he's likely her first serious boyfriend so she is reacting emotionally rather than rationally.

I was slightly annoyed at how Kara was cold to Brainy. If it had happened on Alex's watch she would have been worried about Alex's feelings. And quite frankly, even if he had let Supergirl and Nia have a crack at interrogating Ramakan, it still could have ended very badly & he might still have had to take him back to the DEO eventually. Perhaps J'onn could have got some info from him, but what it if backfired?

This whole season has gone by really slowly, but I don't remember a line of dialogue, talking about motivation at all. I guess using VR to cause mass murder of the human race makes sense, but I think my problem is, it's never directly stated and we're almost to the finale...it's just...I feel like cheated. This is one instance where I need my villains to be straight up blunt about what their motivations are. I don't know all the lore, not everyone does.
