I hope Carolyn doesn't fade into the background too much with Alice gone.
There was a part of me that was suspicious of Alice dying once I saw Samantha Mathis credited as guest starring. But at the same time I didn't think they could kill her off because I'm so familiar with her name and flashbacked to her 90s fame. Her role as Nora in Pump Up the Volume is one of my faves! Funny...her role as Nora reminds me a lot of Norrie. __________________

aww
I liked Alice a lot and wish she could've stuck around. Killing her off was too harsh. eta: This is hilarious! Under The Dome's Aisha Hinds had fun in the Photo Booth at 2013 CBS TCAs! __________________

YouTube is sadly barren from much Pump Up the Volume clips. Here's a scene of Samantha that I found:
I know...the black hair will throw you off. But it is her! I get some Joe/Norrie vibes from Mark/Nora too with his awkwardness and her sarcasm. If you haven't seen Pump Up the Volume, you should check it out. Especially if you are into teen angst or the 90s. I found this amazing mash up of Heathers and "Pump..." the other night: Talk Hard (Heathers & Pump Up The Volume / Massive Attack - Teardrop instrumental) - YouTube. __________________

that is cute. I love Aisha since I saw her as Isabelle on Hawthorne. I hate that she wasn't in the last two episodes.

I'm getting a little irritated with Carolyn. She needs to come out of that room and start acting like a mom. Mourning a spouse is normal, shutting yourself off from your kid is not.
Or is it? __________________

I have seen cases where the other parent is so wrapped up in their grief that they forget about the children's grief.

What is this, 3 episodes now that Carolyn hasn't been seen? Still shut up in that room with her grief? Really?

It makes no sense. I hope she's in the next episode.

I hope so, too. She's needed, to shore up her daughter and to take charge of something. Anything. The town is short of capable people and she needs to step up to the plate.
Ah! Wouldn't she be perfect to take over the cafe? I'm not remembering what she did in her previous life, but I can definitely see her being the next "mayor by proclamation." __________________

I'm missing Carolyn too. I love watching Norrie's stuff with Joe and Angie, but I'm ready for her and Carolyn to be together again.

IN the pilot, it seemed like she had a high powered job. I can't see her staying on the sidelines for long.

Her character bio at CBS doesn't say what her occupation was, but I'm sure she named it in one of the earliest episodes. Well, whatever ... hoping we'll see her next week!

Wasn't she an attorney for actors in LA? I think I might have read that in an interview with the actress.
