I don't even know how long the mumps lasts. I thought it had been eradicated in this country.

Didn't they recently have a mumps outbreak in professional hockey or was that something else? All I know is they interviewed one of the players and his cheeks were all swelled up like a chipmunk.

I've been keeping myself at home. My workload for the week has come in from school, next week's will come on Monday.
I don't know how long this is going to last either, I was vaccinated for it so it shouldn't last too long(shouldn't have gotten it in the first place) but, who knows at this point.  __________________

I looked it up and there was indeed a mumps outbreak in the NHL this season.

That's too bad, Essence. I sometimes don't trust all vaccines, especially the flu shots. You can still get the flu - just not the specific one they are inoculating against. Seems like too much of a crap shoot to me. Hope you feel better soon.

My dad swears up and down that getting the flu shot years ago actually gave him the flu. He hasn't gotten one since.

I get very sick on the night of the day I get my flu shot - fever & chills, mainly - but since I started getting the shots a few years ago, I haven't had a real case of the flu.
So, I figure sick for one night vs 2 weeks? No-brainer.  __________________
