Lucifer Renewed for Fifth and Final Season!

I'm so happy! I'm glad they can end it the way THEY wanted to. Fox was ready to just cut them off, disappointing the cast AND the fans. Kudos to Netflix!

It's great news. Getting another season and KNOWING its your final one gives so much potential to make an epic conclusion.

I'm a little sad we only get 1 more season, but that's cos I'm greedy an would have liked 6 or 7. Yet I'm so so so oooo happy with anything being better than nothing. Hopefully we can have more episodes this time so we can get a jam packed finale

I'm grateful for the fifth season, but why would it be the final one? It was number one in ratings for two weeks after the release of Season 4.

(Actually, I found out it was #1 for 4 weeks!)

I think the producers didn't want to risk it not getting an ending and/or they felt that with one more season they would be able to tell all they wanted too...

I saw an article clarifying that it was the decision of the cast and writers. Netflix didn't cancel, it was just that the story was finding its natural end. Still makes me sad, but I can always find new stories on AO3. And rewatch forever!

Actually, I've been going back and forth on this one. Now I'm hearing that it wasn't the showrunners decision. Joe Henderson wanted 6 seasons. But even though we all did everything that was expected of us and more (running #1 on binges for four solid weeks, record new signups, 100% critic ratings) Netflix still chose to make Season 5 the final, and with only 10 seasons. It makes absolutely no sense, but the showrunners don't want us to campaign for Season 6.

I discussed this with one of the leaders of a Lucifer fan club, and she sees no hope for a Season 6.
