Both the benifit and downside of a shorter season.

I plan on rewatching every episode before posting in the per episode discussion and I plan on pacing myself.

I've managed 2 watch throught so far.

Almost feel like I need a 3rd with a note book on hand to jote down my thought as I go before I can post in episode specific threads or I forget which episode is which. They all blur together in a binge watch

Waldfrau 05-14-2019 07:37 AM

Yeah, I watched s1-3 three times. Need to rewatch s4 too before I can comment individual episodes.

So, has everyone seen all of S4 now?

I just finished it last night, and all I can say is WOW.

I've always enjoyed the show, the cast, and the characters, but I've at times felt like potential was left on the table in terms of storytelling and Lucifer being the devil.

This season I think fully realized that potential. By far my favorite season of the show, and while I hope like hell it gets a season 5, it ended in that perfectly bittersweet way for me that could work as an ending.

I can't say enough great things about this season - the storytelling was so much tighter, there was so much character development, (IMO) a better balance between the humor and the drama and the horror..... And the music was freaking incredible! I immediately started making notes on the artists. I've always enjoyed the music they've played on the show since the pilot, but there were so many standout moments this season where the soundtrack just worked so perfectly.

I have a bad relationship with Netflix currently with their cancelling the Marvel shows, most of which I really loved and subscribed for in the first place, but I'm damn grateful for them picking up this show and allowing the show to give us this season. And while I think the ending to season 4 would work as series finale, seeing what they can do absolutely makes me wish for more.

Yeah, the music was really good again. There are several Lucifer playlists on spotify, I hope they update them with the new songs from s4.

Just watched episode 7. Yeah, I'm still watching. Taking it real slow with S4. But one episode a week and just three episodes to go, I'm in good time to finish S4 before meeting Tom Ellis at the London Film & Comic Con. :D

Episode 7 though. :thud: With everything going on with Lucifer, all I can think about is
Spoiler:

I finally finished watching Season 4! :thud: WOW what a finale. That was awesome. I have to agree about this season being my favourite so far too. And that's saying something coming from a Lucifer fan who only started watching when Tom Welling was announced for S3. I totally agree that this season had tighter storytelling, better character development and a better balance of humour and drama, and I think that's because of the short 10 episode season, though thanks to Netflix, those episodes are longer, nice 50-55 minutes than the standard network 42 minutes.

ashley_lor 08-13-2019 10:37 AM

when is the new season starting?

S5 doesn't have a premiere date yet but it'll probably air sometime in early 2020
