For example: after getting shot in S1 Lucifer is talking to the old Lt and inviting her to a 70s night at Lux, insisting 'no, it's good'.

S3 standalone ep where we see Lucifer's 1st day in LA he is wearing a 70s disco suit saying that was the 'hight of fashion the last time I was here'

My theory on this is he loves 70s stuff cos that's the last time he was on earth for an extended amount of time

Did God really raise Lucifer after Malcolm shot him?

This draws a little on info we learn in Season 2 but mostly from Season 1.

- When Lucifer gives Malcolm the Coin in exchange for his life the exact words he uses are 'it's all yours if you don't shot me'

- When Malcolm does shoot Lucifer in this episode I suggest that it invalidated the deal and ownership of the Coin (on a celestrial/spiritual level) would have reverted to Lucifer.

- Lucifer could then escapes Hell using the Coin, which we do see as the coin desintergrates ('one use only') when he gets back to earth.

- Season 2 established that a soul that escapes hell enters a recently dead body (in this case Lucifer's own) and heals it of all injury. Hence he was fully restored and able to save Chloe from Malcolm

Has Lucifer testing how far away Chloe has to be for him to become invulnerable again?

When facing Cain at the end of S3, in response to being shot without damage' he says "there's no point. The Detectivel's a safe distance away now"

Unless he was guessing and just took her as far as he could on injured wings, I'd guess he'd figured out how far she needs to be to affect him

I hadn't given it much thought but now that you point it out I think you're right, I think he has been testing to see how far away Chloe needs to be from him in order to not be vulnerable. Something that could be considered an example of him doing this is in s2 when he sends Chloe away so he can go into the lab without getting hurt.

He also tested this in the episode with that poison maniac scientist.

Yes, with the poison thing to get into the lab he sends her away but I don't think he'd have any idea how far she got. He just waits and cuts himself till he doesn't bleed to see if he can enter the lab. Decker could have caught the guy 5ft outside the door and he wouldn't have known.

He let Maze throw knives at him to test his vulnerability towards the end of S1 so I can't see him not trying to figure out Chloe's range. Like, secretly standing outside her house when she's asleep then walking away, poking himself with a needle, until he stops bleeding.

Although it also wouldn't suprise me if it turns out he's cashed in a Favour to have someone Lojack her car to ping his phone whenever she gets close

Or asked Maze to trail her at some point as part of testing his vulnerability

Now I wanna see the scene where Chloe partially realises one of these things and freaks out.

She tells Lucifer she's really worried one of the criminals she's previously arrested is now out of jail and targeting/stalking her and explains what she's seen/found.

Then Lucifer calmly states "Oh, don't worry. That was me" then explains what he did. Either have Maze follow her or putting a tracer on her car.

This would be the bit where Decker seriously considers shooting him again.

That's exactly what would happen, Lucifer wouldn't see anything wrong with it and Chloe would be annoyed :lol:

I think this is one of the best descriptions of their relationship dynamic
