I'm glad this show didn't shy away from showing part of the issues surrounding race prevalent in the american police system. If Amenadiel hadn't been there that innocent girl probably would have been killed, or arrested and prosecuted for a crime she didn't commit.
It annoys me that Rory doesn't appreciate any of the effort that Lucifer is putting into bonding with her, I get she's angry and blames him but he's trying his best to make up for not being there. I did like them singing together at the end that was beautiful. __________________

Finally got around to watching this episode!
Amenadiel is making to be a great cop. If it wasn't for his instinct and good detective skills, Michaela would have been wrongly arrested or even killed for a crime she didn't commit. He will make a far better detective that that guy who did make detective. I didn't believe a word that he said he regrets what he did. He's a bad egg and I hope they rap him out. I like officer Harris, she's a great mentor for Amenadiel and they look like they make a good cop team together. This episode touched on a very serious subject within the American police system and I'm glad they adressed it, but at the same time, with this story being the 'A' plot, it really didn't feel much like a Lucifer episode and had more of a serious tone that reflects real life issues. Loved Dan wanting to be there for Amenadiel on his first real day as a cop. Ella - I laughed so hard when she tried to feel for Amenadiel's wings when Amenadiel asks for her help with the case. I wonder when she'll eventually let them know she knows about the whole celestial thing now? I liked the scene with Chloe and Rory. So we're given a reason why we're not seeing so much of Trixie, she's at science camp. I miss her. I hope we get some scenes with her and Rory before the end. Lucifer attempts at trying to reconnect with Rory was really funny. He was honestly trying really hard, by making up for lost Christmases and such, but it was obvious Rory didn't really care about the presents or any of the materialistic things Lucifer tried to make up for her. I think all she ever wanted was to just have her father around, to be there for her. I loved how Rory's driving of the Corvette even scared Lucifer that was hilarious. LOVED the ending with the Bridge Over Troubled Water duet with Lucifer and Rory. She got her musical talent from her dad aww. Looks like they will bond after all. This was a mixed bag episode for me, but I still enjoyed it. __________________

Glad you enjoyed the episode, Liv.
Some of the Dan scenes were fun. It's just great to see him still a big part of the series. Trixie, I believe the actress, grew up too fast, which is why she was kinda excluded. |
