Lucifer 5x08 "Spoiler Alert" Episode Discussion Thread

I doubt Michael can actually deliver on his promise to Maze

Anybody else think Maze actually has a soul?

Within the Luciverse we know people get what they deserve from Angels to humans Fate is what people make of it.

Its more than speculation.

Maze is different from the others. Last season the demons we saw couldn't betray Luci fast enough

Maze has shown loyalty, mercy, forgiveness, loss, yes she enjoys the carnage but she is more than that.

Finished my Lucifer binge-watch. Loved the first half of Season 5, but there were a few things I was wondering about:

In the show, they've established that Hell is made up of everyone's personal Hellscapes based on their own memories and guilt.

Now, there's no doubt Pete Daily will be going to Hell when he dies... BUT he appears to be a sociopath based on what he said to Ella. Sociopaths don't feel anything - or rather, they feel very little beyond their own needs and desires - and they definitely don't feel remorse or guilt for their actions.

If that's the case for Pete, how would that affect him in Hell?

We've seen Maze protect her friends when needed, but she's never "lost" anything doing so. She does, however, have a pattern of betraying the people she considers friends when she feels she can gain something from it.

Is this the real reason she'll never get a soul?

Is it possible that the only way Maze can get a soul is to do something completely selfless? Something that causes her to actually have to give up something she wants in order to help someone else?

In other words -- if she turns on Michael and protects her friends from his machinations, knowing that turning on him will cause her to lose her chance of getting a soul (or so she thinks), would that be the one thing she needs to do to GET a soul?

I like that Dan is "in the know" now, but I hope that doesn't mean we're going to have another (half) season of Dan hating on Lucifer again.

I think it will be Ella's turn to find out next.

As for Trixie -- I have a theory that she probably figured it all out a long time ago (maybe after she saw Maze's true face?), but thought it was cool and never bothered to tell anyone.

I think they finished all episodes but the final one for Season 5B, as the filming for that episode was interrupted by the virus.

Once they finish filming that last episode, I believe they're going straight into Season 6.

I thought this episode was good. God in the end i was half expecting Morgan Freeman

Who else thought baby Charlie was slowing down time?

I knew from the get go that Peter was the killer.

I was hoping that it was baby Charlie that stopped time, though it makes sense that Amenediel did it to find out once and for all if Charlie is mortal or Angel. Wow, Ella really got screwed over.

He did actually almost say it, and I think that he was stunned that she didn't realize he DOES love her. In a way, he told her that she was his first and only love before he left for Hell. The fact that he said his first love wasn't Eve, but Chloe means that what he feels for Chloe surpasses anything he'd ever felt for or with anybody else.

Michael was playing headgames .

I really hate that Maze is siding with Michael but that fight scene between them and Lucifer and Amenadiel was epic!

I gotta give props to the casting department because the dude that played Peter really came across as a psycho, I actually wonder if he's going to come back into play in the later half of the season like maybe they'll actually need his help to catch another killer or something.

Poor Ella I was actually so nervous when she was finding Peter's secret room.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what the show does with God in 5b

That's an interesting question...what does Hell look like for someone with no remorse or fear? They haven't established it existing in this world but maybe he'd go to Purgatory

Same; it seemed like he understood that at the very least Lucifer does care for Chloe so maybe he'll be more open to accepting Lucifer is not a bad guy instead of just hating him.

I'd love it for Ella to find out. Wouldn't be surprised if Trixie already knew

I lol'd at the beginning of this ep when Lucifer shot himself. He was happy that he was invulnerable.

I knew there wasn't something right about Pete. He just seemed very shady to me, even when he and Ella first met. And I knew he was going to either catch her in his secret room or she would tip him off somehow. I was scared for her when he saw she tampered with the plug on the wall.

I feel so bad for Ella. She thought she found a nice normal guy And she deserves love. She wasn't kidding when she said she was drawn to the bad boys, but she got more than she wanted this time. Especially thinking he was a good one.

Wait so... Amenadiel has his ability back too? Well, I mean a more advanced one, since he froze time instead of slowing it down.

Yeah I didn't like how Maze was on Michael's side either, but I can understand where she's coming from. Like why she did it. And that fight scene was so intense omg.. I kinda wanted more.

She does deserve love, I hope she finds it but I also hope she knows that while she might not have a romantic partner she has people who love her and who she can reach out to talk about what happened with Peter.

I would have loved it if that fight scene had gone on longer, their celestial fight scenes are so much fun.
