weakest episode so far. Might just be because I don't care for noir

Am I the only one hurt by what Trixie did? Betray Lucifer like that for cash?

I didn't like they way they used Trixie like that, even though it was actually Maze's idea to find out what Lucifer had been hiding from her for millennia. Nice seeing Charlotte again, even if it was in this different kind of context.

This was probably my least favorite epsidoe and I LOVE old Hollywood movies. I just felt like it was a waste of an epsidoe where the storyline could have been more focus on Lucifer/Chloe/Michael.

Wait, where was Charlotte? Was she the wife?

I didn't like that Trixie did that either but it goes to show I think, she's no lomger the little girl. She didn't have much screen time.

At a difference I loved this ep

I love film noir, I think the actors did a great job, I love that instead of it being just one more filler episode they did something fun with it and expanded their own mythology giving a backstory to an item that might otherwise not be thought of much (Lucifer's ring), and I was surprised by Trixie helping out Maze but also not really she's really close to Maze, she's always been mischeavious and I don't really consider it a betrayal of Lucifer's trust she asked him to tell him the story of his ring and he did he didn't tell her to keep it a secret or that she couldn't share it.

^ I agree with you.
At first I wasn't sure about this ep.. but I lol'd quite a bit I was intrigued when the women were playing guy characters. I thought Jack was going to turn out to be Dan, but nope that was a twist.

Am I the only one who feels bad for Maze? It's like one sad story after another. No wonder she feels so abandoned, cuz everyone literally does leave her.

Something I noticed in my re-watch that I absolutely love is that in this episode they literally do a Chekhov's gun; basically there's this concept in writing called Chekhov's gun that states every element in a story must be necessary so if there's a pistol on the wall in the first act it must go off in the second or third act otherwise it shouldn't be there.

In this episode when Lucifer and Detective Jack are talking to Gertie - which is also when this character is introduced - the scene starts from the rifle that's hanging above the bar before panning down to Gertie who will at the end of the episode be reveleaed to be the one behind the theft of Liliths ring and who'll use that same rifle to try to get it!

They did a Chekhov's gun and used it as a form of foreshadowing! I love that!

I wasn't sure what to make of this episode to begin with either, but then I do sometimes like noir episodes (I like the one Smallville did). At first I thought it was a bit filler, with not really a whole lot of context for the actual plot so far, but I did like the idea of an episode centred on Lucifer telling Trixie a story which is pretty cute. And the ending surprised me, I was not expecting that at all and so it pleased me to find that it did not end up being filler at all and moved the plot along with explaining Maze's abandonment issues. Poor Maze.

So I ended up enjoying this one a lot and it was a nice, relatively calm yet fun episode after the drama of the last few episodes we've had to endure. I wasn't having to be at the edge of my seat for once.

I liked the twist of the murder mystery. And seeing Tricia Helfer back was a nice surprise, even if she was playing someone else.

Trixie (Scarlett) has grown up so much!

All in all, a cute fun episode with an interesting ending, but I have to admit I don't think it would be my favourite episode so far.

^ Thanks for the thoughts, Liv.

Did Maze find out that Lucifer knew her mother?
