Lucifer 5x03 "!Diablo!" Episode Discussion Thread

I LOVED how they took a swing at Fox. The way they referred to what Fox did to them. Clever. Bonus: Tessa Auberjonois as the AD of "Diablo" with Carpel Tunnel. Tessa's the real-life daughter of actor Rene Auberjonois, who played Odo on Star Trek: DS9. Made a poignant shout-out when we see Ella go to a Trek convention.

Favorite episode of this season so far! It was so much fun with so many little easter eggs throughout (like the writers' room is the actual Lucifer writers room!), I loved it

The clown/circus hell was actually creepy and when those clowns appeared behind Amenadiel I almost choked on my water they freaked me out

Dan and Lucifer re-enacting the Diablo! script I'm glad that they're starting to get along again

Lucifer and Michael's fight was such a mix between celestial beings fighting and siblings fighting, I liked it

I'm really liking the juxtapositions of Lucifer and Michael: Lucifer doesn't lie but Michael does, Lucifer gets you to confess your desires Michael your fears, Lucifer's wings are pure white Michael's are ashy black, even in the fight Lucifer is in white Michael is in black.

I think it's perfectly understandable that they would have some issues and in Chloe's case need some space considering that Chloe just found out, in not the most ideal way, that she is a gift from God created for Lucifer.

Not only that, but Chloe found out that the person she initially thought was Lucifer was an imposter, and she had a ton of issues with wondering why "Lucifer" had changed. Lucifer didn't realize what Michael had been doing with Chloe as far as toying with her mind, so he's bummed as well that the reception he gets from Chloe isn't the one he was hoping for.

I was glad that Lucifer DID cut Michael's face so that there was no longer any way for Michael to pretend to be Lucifer. Especially for the HUGE moment that happens in 5x06.

Lucifer calling Chloe "my clever detective" awww

I loved how the intro had the Lieutenant Diablo! in the title instead of Lucifer, that was fun.

Loved the scene with Maze and Linda watching and enjoying Diablo.

The Lucifer and Michael fight was intense! Yes, as nasty as it was I'm glad Lucifer did that too. When Maze went to see Chloe and "Lucifer" was just sitting in the dark I knew it had to be Michael.

So Michael was manipulating Lucifer the whole time? That confused me a little.

I'm glad Lucifer did that too, especially cause then he couldn't pretend to be Lucifer which would have gotten annoying real quick.

I wonder if he really has been manipulating Lucifer if those were also part of his lies
