By far my favourite part of this was the date. When Chloe demands to know what the difference is when he gets hurt. Sure, the axe scene is amazing but her breakdown at the date gives us a clear insight into what has been running through her head the last month.
Oh, but the axe scene.....Ok. . Maybe they are tied Someone on twitter pointed out that everything Father Kinley has been telling her about Lucifer's persona being an act is just what Peirce/Cain did to Chloe. He kept changing his behaviour till she fell for him. So, at a vulnerable time, when someone tells her that Lucifer who she just found out is ACTUALLY the devil is doing the same thing she is swayed to believe them. EDIT: here is the link to that tweet thread: https://twitter.com/Lovemypirates/st...938925057?s=19 Last edited by Kat_d86; 05-14-2019 at 10:09 AM |

I think this is my season favorite episode of the season. Lauren German gave an incredible performance. The explosion and Chloe's reaction to it her face eliminates all doubt.
Also I know Tom Elis was photo shopped into Kinley's scrapbook but I wonder if we are supposed to think Kinley did the photoshopping to fake Chloe out. I mean the suit Lucifer was wearing was from a previous episode. The ax think was inappropriately romantic. I felt like what happened in the Originals with Gia having her hands around Elijah's heart. (I think I need therapy) I wonder how much she, Chloe, knows really does she know what Lucifer did for her with Malcolm in Season 1? that Lucifer killed his brother Uriel or that he went to hell and back for her. Well I think its best she made the decision before finding out all about it. How would she react if she found out Trixie has known about Maze's face since Halloween. Kat_d86 I don't think Lucifer changes personality from season 1 but I get it. |

For me that bit was her trying to figure out if Kinley's version of him was acurate. If he really was the monster he was making him out to be or if he was the Lucifer she had cone to know. It was the first crack in the manipulation that Kinley had woven around her to get her to help him.

Found a twitter thread on some of the possible hidden details in this episode:
https://twitter.com/Sanoiro/status/1...434772480?s=19 I especially like the theory that Lucifer was trying to pick a shirt that would best go with the colour of Chloe's eyes |

Lauren German does an amazing job in this episode of showing the stress of Chloe's confusion. It's heart-wrenching, watching her back and forth as she tries to reconcile what Father Kinley is pushing her towards with her own heart-centered judgment of Lucifer. Every step toward the "date" is disaster for him, but he is so happy about it, while we're watching, knowing that it means she's actually judging against him. Superb, edgy writing!
It's strange that her conversation with him about torture in Hell where he says, "It was a job, Detective. Something I was forced to do," was a moment where she stepped back from the edge of betrayal. But then, even though it's clear that she loves him when the Cabin explodes with him inside and she screams in fear, she decides to go ahead with the plan. Was it just his incredible power, walking out of the flames? Or maybe the way he said, "He (God) certainly had nothing to do with it," was what shifted her thinking. And wow, what a scene that was! Lots more to say about this episode, but I'm going to take smaller bites... Last edited by Tavalah; 06-09-2019 at 05:50 PM |

One thing I'd like to know. The ax scene was so incredibly touching, but hey, how did that NOT turn into a passionate kiss? How did they walk away from that? He just SHOWED her that he loves her by putting his life on the line for her.
I know he's sensing something is wrong, and he wouldn't have tried to kiss her in that moment, but if I had been her, I totally would have kissed him! |

That makes complete sense. From what she said when he cut his hand, seeing him walk out of the fire convinced her that he was ALWAYS invulnerable, unless he chose not to be. In a way, that's true, but not the way she was thinking. It's his decision to stay by her side and be vulnerable, but he does it out of his love for her. I also wondered, she never came out and asked Kinley what it is that Lucifer is supposed to want, that he is manipulating her for? Her soul? Or just to sleep with her? If the latter, then so what? He'd not be much different than a lot of men. Most men? Last edited by Tavalah; 06-13-2019 at 09:27 AM |

I didn’t care much for the murder case in this ep but everything else was so
I loved the flashbacks of Chloe’s time in Rome. I was so worried she would end up going through with the priest's plan, I’m glad she didn’t; her finding out she makes Lucifer vulnerable and the scene at the end where she’s holding the ax to Lucifer’s chest They were so beautiful and Lauren’s and Tom’s acting during those scenes was Lucifer walking out of the fire was so cool, I love how much of his supernatural abilities we’re getting to see this season. Amenadiel and Linda having a baby?!?!??!? That might be the thing that surprised me the most What a fantastic episode __________________
