It was definately a feeling of disbelief as well, as you said Nonna. Just utter shock and disbelief.

I was at work and there was an email sent to all officers saying Heath Ledger is dead... I thought it was a cruel joke because most people there had joked about Heath (and Jake) a lot after BBM. Gay jokes...

Then when I checked my phone, I got like a dozen of text messages all asking me if I'm okay and had heard that Heath passed away. I was like... what? I went online and read about it. I was in complete shock .When I got home, I just couldn't speak. I was dumbfounded. Then when it started to sink in, like a day or two after, I started crying everytime I read news, watch videos, post at fanforum. It was just too much. I couldn't watch any of his movies after that, I wanted to be in denial. I wanted to wake up the next day knowing it's just all a bad dream.

I tended to get angry, I was so frustrated with the media and whatthey were saying about him. I felt like they werent giving him the respect he deserved, it was just like 'oh another celebrity died young lets make up vicious crap about him' It hurt.

I got a text message from my friend saying that he had died. I was trying to get back to sleep coz my dad woke me up because he was playing loud music

But, my friend woke me with the news and I got up straight away and told my dad who turned the news on.

like most of you, i woke up on jan 22 and i immediately check my cellphone to turn off my alarm then check my text messages. i had like 8 messages telling me that heath was dead. i was just in shock and i couldn't believe it. i turned on the tv and switched to CNN. i saw the flashing headlines "heath ledger dead at 28." i was just in denial the whole day even at work.

the next day, it finally hit me and i cried while reading some articles on heath online. i was just

for matilda, michelle, jake & heath's family for them to lose him at such a young age. i grieved especially for matilda cos she'll be growing up without her dad. that was the saddest part for me about heath's death. it's such a travesty that heath won't be there to watch his daughter grow up.

I got two textmessages from two friends.. When I read the first I thought it was some kind of stupid joke, but when I read the second one I knew it was true. I was in a bar with 3 friends, whom I told immediately.. they couldn't believe it too. Then we got some shots and toasted to Hath..

A friend of mine called me and asked if I had heard. I was fixing a snack at the moment and hadn't had the chance to be on the computer yet. I didn't believe her so I checked online and I saw it. And I really couldn't form words for a while...

It's slowly getting better....because I've had my FF family to help

It really didn't hit me that he was gone till a few days later. I was so shocked and couldn't believe what I was hearing and seeing.

I was online when I found out. I do a lot of roleplaying on various message boards and a friend of mine had created a character using Julia Stiles as her AI (Actors Image) and I'd said I wanted to create a character using Heath as the AI and we were discussing my characters backstory when my friend Tiffy Im'ed me saying 'Is Heath Ledger dead?'. I just responded with 'No...why would you ask such a thing?!' and then ran to check ohnotheydidnt on LJ and from then it was just hours of hoping that it was a mistake or that he was still breathing, just anything that would spark some hope. Then I broke down and started crying and my sisters just looked at me like I was insane, heh.

The next few days were awful because I kept seeing it everywhere and I just couldn't focus on anything. I knew that I didn't know him but I just kept flashing back to when my aunt died and how I was looking after my 9 year old cousin and she just didn't know how to handle it and all I could think of was Matilda.

It was nice to come on FF and find so many Heath fans going through the same thing, it's helped to deal with such a strange situation (mourning for someone you don't actually know on a personal level).

Its been over a month and the sadness is still very palpable. There's more acceptance but I know that the sadness and feeling of huge loss will probably never go away. And I don't want it to because that would mean I was forgetting him. It helps to know that others feel the same way. I'm really happy he finally got his board but its sad it took something like what happened. Regardless I'm happy that he lives on through us sharing our stories about him.
