If Jack never dies in the film, I wonder who the film would have ended. I still don't see a 'happily ever after' ending.
Maybe some kind of open ending of Ennis and Jack still being apart but wanting more but being afraid to, etc. __________________

I think it would be really hard and it would every bit of strength that Jack had in him to follow through with it.
