I suppose they could be waiting until the end of the schedule before filming anything with Spock in it

They better not wait until the end to shoot Spock scenes! Unless they are done with all the others and have already started the Spock scenes!

I'm not sure, I remember reading that they don't always film in order. If they're getting some location shots first, it would depend on which actors are in those scenes.

I understand not shooting in order, but to save all scenes involving a certain character for last seems rather inconvenient, too.

Or they could just go to his house every morning to apply the Spock make up and let him stay in character until they are ready for him in the thirteenth movie...

I can't think of very many instances where they would shoot in order. Having to use a similar set at dissimilar times would be costly and inconvenient, and these things almost always continue to evolve long after the shooting starts.
