Bad guys are fun to play

"Pretty much. Yeah..."

It's really interesting to see an actor go from playing the goody goody type to being a bad guy. Wil was quite creepy in Criminal Minds.

^ That and maybe to erase the last bits of Wesley-hate in geek-viewers' minds.

I don't doubt it. Plus, if his appearance on The Nerdist is any indication, he's kind of a nerd, himself

After portraying Wesley during his formative years, how could he not have nerdish tendencies?

Probably why many people who hated Wesley adore or at least like Wheaton himself.

Easy. He could have been like so many child actors who grow up and turn to misbehavior or whatever to "distance themselves" from their childhood part (*coughLindsayLohancough*)(*coughBritneySpearscough*)(*reallyloudhackingcoughGaryColemancough*)(*coughingtoohardcan'tspeak*)(*losingconscioiusness*)

Rob. Unfortunately, that's true. Alhough we hear more about former child stars because of their celebrity. I'm thinking of ond of David's friends who was really smart, skipped a couple of grades, went off to college, got into drugs, dropped out ... last I heard he was a stock boy at a grocery store. Not to say that's not a necessary job, but not where I expected this kid to end up.

Wil Wheaton did well then.

It's hard to see good potential squandered, isn't it?
