For leap years, why can't we have the extra day in May or June?

Chris My knees would beg to differ.

I have lived in climates ranging from -40 to about 110 degrees. There is no comparison between an arid -40, or -30 with a wind that makes it feel -70, and a humid cool temperature. (-5C, 25-30F) My favourite is the time I meet an Australian in China who insisted that Melbourne's winters are colder than the Canadian Arctic (-60C, -80F), because of the humidity.

Well, There is an extra day this year. I think it would be kind of cool to be born on Feb 29... kind of like being younger since your true birthday only comes every 4 years.

I knew somebody with a birthday on February 29th. she thought it was a pain.

Randy - I've never lived in a hot climate. I don't think I'd like it very much. High 80's is more than hot enough for me.

How is everybody today?

Just shovelled the driveway. Now I'm warming up before heading out to the store.

I'm exhausted...i even fell asleep early.

We're supposed to be 84 F today. Apparently we're 14 degrees above normal and the previous record of 84 for the day was set in 1951.

Lucky you!! I've had more than enough of winter.

Yeah, except we've have about 1 month of winter. It's not that it's all that hot, but more like "oh man... Summer is already on it's way..."

I can imagine that you appreciate the break from the heat.

Do you have any plans for your long weekend?

At this point, sleep. I'm going to go see Zoolander 2 on Saturday. And I'm having a security system installed in my home on Tuesday along with an eye doctor appointment that day as well. Aside from that, I hope to get some work done in my garden. I have been slowly trying to pull all the weeds that sprouted in the box to ready it for planting. Since it's been so warm, I'll probably try to plant this weekend. I want to try green beans again, but last time I planted them too late and they ended up burning up right before it was time to harvest them.
