The characters understood each other so well. Tom knew to let B'Elanna have her independence, and B'Elanna knew that Tom would get caught up in his holoprogrammes.

Understanding between them for their differences was always a highlight of their relationship. They only pushed the other when they knew that they needed to be pushed. When B'Elanna was hard on herself about her culture or working too hard or Tom was not focusing on work enough. Lots of give and take.

That's one of the many reasons I enjoyed their relationship.

Exactly! They accepted each other for the individual they were, but weren't afraid to call each other out when necessary. And then work past the initial anger at the reprimand and realize that it was done out of love.

It was a good, solid relationship.

That scene is definitely one of my favorites. I had it memorized at one point lol.

I love that about their relationship too. He knew that she struggled with her klingon side, but he also wanted her to embrace that side of her because it was what made her a unique individual.

I think Tom enjoyed the strength and feistiness of her Klingon side.

He knew she wouldn't be her if she didn't have both sides of herself.
