I'm the same. The theatre in town closed a few years ago, so it has to be something both hubby and I want to see to make the effort to go. Otherwise we just wait for it to come to DVD.

Yes! That is precisely how it is with me. It has to be something I REALLY want to see. Like when Man of Steel came out, I waited too long and then was forced to wait for the DvD. This July the new Terminator film comes out, so Im hoping to be able to go and see it.

Exactly. If it's not something we're both excited about, we just wait.

Saw Terminator Genisys two weeks ago. Was a blast, a real fun time.

To the topic. Who has a favorite scene from the 2009 feature they would like to share?

I'm watching this one for the first time right now. I bought the DVD's when they first come out but was weary, because of the old series. Going to give it a go.

It's not too bad so far, it's keeping me gripped anyway.

EDIT: I need help understanding. So there's two Spocks? The one from the future, went through a black hole and in now into present day? How did the other dude go back in time to destroy his planet so he could watch though? or is this Spock from an alternate world? I don't get it.

Yes, there are two Spocks, a Spock from the future (the original or Spock Prime, Leonard Nimoy) and his present self (nuSpock, Zachary Quinto). With SciFi, things won't always make complete sense, and you have to buy into the time travel concept, in order to enjoy the story.

Yeah my main confusion was that he said he was going to make him watch his planet be destroyed. Sent him back in time to watch it present day. So when younger Spock watched his mother die on his planet, is that the explosion older Spock saw? So they both saw the same explosion twice?

Wouldn't the older version have seen it twice then? As technically he is grown up younger Spock? Because when younger Spock grows up he'll go through the black hole and see it again?

No. Instead of doing a remake of the original series in movie form, they created an alternate reality. It is not a time loop. Vulcan was not destroyed at any point in the previous time line. When the Romulans that went back in time destroyed a Federation ship, then destroyed Vulcan, they changed the course of history. The original time line will not occur, as it will be replaced by a new one. I think the story is stupid, but that is what was done.
