 Do the actors get to breathe?

Mr. Impatient 09-18-2012 04:26 AM

Guess that all depends on just where the uniforms are tighter... ;)

Not really sure what to think of the new title, but I am still very interested in seeing this movie.

Still not sure having Benedict C in the film

I know what you mean Tracey. Guess it's more that I don't like the idea of him being Khan.

I guess one advantage of not knowing who BC really is and not being a great fan of the original series... I have no expectations of what the character of Khan is supposed to be like, so whether or not Benedict actually plays Khan, I will have a fresh perspective and not be expecting anything.

Rob - I imagine a lot of people seeing the movie will be in a similiar situation. If you're not familiar with TOS, then you won't have any preconceptions about established characters. I thought they did a good job in the first movie walking that line ... satisfying established fans and making it accessable and intriguing for new fans.

A lot of fans seem to be real sticklers when it comes to certain things related to their fandom. I am glad that the last movie was so well-received. I hope the new one will do even better than the last one did.

You have no idea how true that is.

John Cho talks Star Trek Into Darkness
John Cho Talks "More Expansive" Star Trek Sequel - IGN

IGN: Was it fun welcoming new folks like Benedict Cumberbatch and Alice Eve to the set?

Cho: Yeah, I guess looking back on it, it did put us in the position of being hosts. But they didn’t need hosts. They’re whip-smart, amazing people. They’re so good, such good actors. Having said that, they blended in right away. They were right there giving us s**t back and forth. It was a lot of fun. I’m embarrassed to say how much fun it was because we did get paid. They did cut us checks! So maybe I shouldn’t emphasize how fun it was...

aw, that's wonderful to know that the atmosphere on the set is so terrific.

I am sure things would go a lot better when the cast gets along. I know I always preferred a work environment where I liked the people around me! It is good to know that the "original" cast didn't decide to become their own clique and make things difficult for the newcomers! :D

Definitely. A good working environment helps things to go smoothly.
