Who here remembers when Ambassador Spock was first shown as an ambassador seeking Unification in the 1991 two-part episode of the same, and who has seen it again thanks to blu ray technology?

I remember Ambassador Spock on TNG. I don't have Blu-ray though.

Nor do I, and I just found out tonight that blu rays don't play on DVD players, but DVDs will play on blu ray players. How crazy is that?
But yes, Spock was well-written in Unification and in the modern films.

A gimmick to get you to upgrade to blu ray? I'm not buying into it.

Spock has always been an iconic character. I'm glad they respected that with the reboot.

Tell me about it, friend! I just don't see the logic in getting a blu ray player and then have to go out and re-buy my VHS/DVD collection on blu ray!

Yes, Spock was handled quite well in recent films. I wish he had been in more of the Next Gen era, though, as there was some outrageous hype for it back then. So JJ gets my vote of confidence for adding Nimoy and Spock to his movies!
