Yes, there are alternatives.

I wonder if in after thought the show writers would do anything differently?

i'm sure there are some writers who look back and say, "Why didn't I do that?" There are some things that could have been better and some things that would never be changed.

I would have liked to have seen a reference or two to "Attached" in subsequent episodes. I'd think an experience like that is something that would really bond you with the other person, and make you wonder about their thoughts afterwards.

, it's like they went into their old familar pattern afterwards (although I do like the jealous comment Beverly made in 'Sub Rosa')

Exactly, and to me that wasn't very realistic. We got a few references to Tasha after she was gone, so you'd think they could have followed up on Picard & Crusher's having been able to read each other's thoughts.

Can't say that 'Sub Rosa' was on my favourite episode list. I always thought it was out of character for Beverly to fall for the ghost.

The only thing worth watching for Sub Rosa was Picard getting jealous over beverly... though getting jealous over a ghost is a little redundant.
