I asked my fiance this past weekend a question regarding, Dr. Altan Inigo Soong , Data's human brother. Dr. Soong was a geneticist, I wonder if he and his wife created Data and Lore as a result of infertility?
Like they wanted to have a baby together but couldn't, so they made Data and Lore instead, and then later discovered after they lost contact with Data that they could have children and had Altan? __________________

I don't remember it ever being implied in the show that synths were made to be substitutes for human children. My impression was that they were purely a scientific development. I could be wrong.

It's good to have a title idea organized.
 obisgirl - I could totally see some couples considering the option of having a synth baby. Although then you'd also have to consider the ramifications of creating designer babies. __________________
