YES!!! Odo and Kira are one of my TOP 3 couples for Star Trek! Their journey, and their coming together in such a way was beautiful to watch, painful at times yes, but it was so loving, and they were so devoted to each other.

not to mention, S1 is the weakest season (imo)

S1 was on the weak side, mainly because it was just a season of stand alone episodes. It did lay the groundwork for establishing that the scenery wasn't going to change. The station was where it was happening.

I like the first suggestion.

What made DS9 great was the relationships between the characters and those were not well established yet in Season 1.

They didn't seriously start building the relationships until S2 when they started getting down to the nitty gritty.
