- I love that scene too! Over all he's pretty unsure of what's going to happen here and tries to talk her down. Even through he's uneasy and unsure of what's going to happen he wont leave her side. I always wanted them to include a scene in The Reckoning, which clearly shows that Odo did stay on the station. I guess for that one it's left up to our imaginations.
- That's something I didn't notice, Odo hiding the PADD. I will have to watch out for that the next time I see it.
- How was that? He always seems pretty goofy in videos. Seems like a fun guy to meet.
- If I had been watching when it was on I would have hoped but thought they would never get together. That's cool that she was able to drop that little tidbit. I read through some of the old posts on google group boards. A few people had mentioned that there was a rumor going around that Gaia Odo and Kira were supposed to sleep together in CoT. Does anyone know if that was actually supposed to happen in that episode? I do know that CoT was two different episode they merged together and that it was originally supposed to be a season 3 episode.
- I'm so glad that didn't happen. I did like her being tempted by it, but I'm so very glad she was so opposed to it that they ultimately didn't go through with it. Now I could see the Intendent and Dukat hooking up quite easily. But for regular Kira and Dukat - that I think would have ruined her character.
- It's amazing to me, when people say they have no chemistry. That's wonderful you got see them perform one of their plays!
- WOW! Maybe they have a sort of procedure for things like that at a Trek convention. Maybe she anticipated a fight or something. That's also weird that you got carded when that's something that rarely happens with you.
- That's wonderful! I have noticed while watching con vids. Is that the cast of Voyager is very hilarious together, especially Wang, Russ and McNeil. I think that if they had let the actors loosen up a bit they could have made Voyager a lot funnier.
- I second that! Or if Kira had met her and would have said to Odo. Is this what you see in me? I could see him trying to explain that it wasn't him who made/altered the Hologram. One thing I loved about Odo in His Way, was when he gets so close to Lola and moves in to kiss her; he backs away. Which really shows that it's everything about Kira that he's in love with. Not just her looks. "She's nothing like Kira."

I can see that too. After he oogled Lola in it. In the The Orb's podcast commentary of His Way, the commentators state that this is what Odo fantasizes every time him and Kira have their Tuesday meetings.
- I always wanted them to be holding hands walking into Quarks in that scene. I love this scene, it's quite adorable. Both of them are kind of put off by Bashir; you have to feel a bit sorry for him, it's obvious he's pretty lonely here.

- Kira is amused and secure enough in their relationship not to be jealous by Odo's adoration of other women.

- Like Wes&FredFan I did not know that. It does make sense having that scene with Sisko and Kassidy talking about racisim in the 60's. Brooks has one amazing voice. I wish he could have sung more on the show. Speaking of that...I do know that they had wanted so very badly to do a musical episode and the network said no. His Way being the closest they ever got. They always managed to pick the perfect song for Vic to sing, for whatever was going on between our characters. Does anyone have James Darren's This One's from the Heart?

I kept remembering Vic's expression when he said "Talk about your cranky aliens. You two really are made for each other" when in OUAT Emma looked at Rumple and Belle in FTL and said, "It's a miracle you two fell for each other."

I doubt that any of the crew was surprised when Odo and Kira did get together ... only that they kissed so publically . By the time their one-month anniversary comes around, it's pretty much a known and accepted fact amongst the station population that Odo and Kira are in love and very much together. Neither one of them is too shy to express public displays of affection, as proven with their very first kiss, the way Kira kisses his cheek on the Promenade ("The Reckoning"), the way Kira and Odo wrap their arms around each other as they walk to a lunch date ("The Sound of Her Voice"), etc.

It's pretty cool. His whole demeanor changes when he squares himself and faces the viewscreen, arms behind his back. Looking as serious as ever.

Me, too. I met Marc Alaimo, who's such a great guy. He truly believed that Kira/Dukat would've been great, but he understood that it wasn't meant to happen. Far more interesting dynamic for him to have had an affair with Kira's mother. He mentioned that he would go to Nana/Sid's house for dinner sometimes and have a great time, but when they were in make-up he'd barely get a hi . It's kind of ingrained that Kira is repulsed by Dukat, so Nana seeing Marc in make-up the next day was probably unsettling. He recited a scene from Hamlet during his Q&A ... he's amazing to watch. You forget that he plays Dukat.

I remember at Novacon IX during DS9's final season (during the final arc) that somebody a few rows back from me (I got front row center for Rene's Q&A ) somebody told Rene he can't figure out why Odo loves Kira. A whole lot of people (O/K fans) I could hear telling him to sit down and shut up. Rene just stared at the guy like he was nuts and said, "Uh, do you have eyes in your head?" I'm still tweaking my "Chimera" fic ... it's a work in progress. I always thought that while "Chimera" wouldn't break them up, it definitely shook them to the very core. Hence why I wrote Kira's leaving the station at the end of the first part of my fic. I see Kira being hurt raw because she allowed herself to fall - completely - for somebody she's known for years, who knew and loved her. And at the end, he said the words she might have feared she would hear again, lingering doubts that go all the way back to when he told her during the Dominion Occupation that she was a "Solid" and her friendship no longer mattered. Of course we know that it did truly mattered and that he never stopped loving her. But that would only have affected her had she already felt something romantic for him ... something deeper than friendship. Perhaps she had believed they were working toward something, and then his betrayal was like a punch in the gut. The knockout punch came a year later when, in his quarters, he tells her he "cares" for her ... but he still wants to be out there with Laas, living as he was "meant to" ... as a Changeling. He doesn't say that he wants to stay with her after that emotional argument - Kira walks out after a bittersweet statement that's fraught with finality, as if she's saying, "So be it." By the time they're in Sisko's office, they're barely even looking at each other. Kira only glances at him once, and until she tells him privately how to find Laas, they seem for all the universe as though they're just co-workers making a report to the CO regarding a prisoner escape.

For somebody like Kira who's already lost her entire family to the Cardassian Occupation, I can see her needing to leave the station to clear her head and heart. When Bareil died, she grieved. But her most emotional involvement on the station has been with Odo - good times, bad times, amazing times, and heartbreaking times. She met him on that station ... they shared their first kiss just steps away from where they met years before.

That's what I'm working on right now - Odo's part of it. His betrayal during the Occupation nearly cost him her friendship. While I loved the lovemaking scene that we got in "Chimera" I find it hard to believe that Kira wouldn't have needed an emotional reprieve after setting him free, etc. We saw Odo decide to come back to Kira, but Kira had no way of knowing that - he never told her. He left the station, for what Kira could only have assumed was forever. If she figured she was in danger of execution or losing her career, I can see Kira opting to leave DS9 for a new life since she hadn't really wanted to be on DS9 when she was given the post. High on angst, but a happy ending ... eventually.
